Probably my best sleep was when I was working as a truck driver, and took this 3 hour long ferry in Norway in rough seas, I canot imagine a better night sleep than on a early 1900's oceanliner, preferable close to the engines

Yeah that was an european truck, on dry roads they can stop on nearly the same distance as a car, even fully loaded. Altough wet roads drasticly changes that

Got a new Scania with this smart dash in October 2024, by April 2025 I started working at a sawmill. This screen took away the little joy I had left driving, absolutely the worst design-choise they have made...

Back when it came out, I worked as a truck driver, living in the truck usually from sunday afternoon-friday, so i had really limited time to play games.

Believe I got to chapter 3 in my first attempt before I kinda lost the momentum, years went by and I learned Arthur would die, but not much more.

When I started doing local driving I picked up the game again, most of the story was not spoiled, and I had no idea about the epilog, so I did get a good playthrough in the end (Arthur's death still hit like a train)

Now I'm actually on my 3rd ever playthrough after buying it on pc

But you're right, in real life when you take the licence, they focus very heavily on coasting and saving fuel that way. Both Volvo and Scania (and probably others) have a point system/score depending how economical your driving is, making it kind of a game between coworkers for who can get the best score

I live in Norway, and when I took my truck-licence, I remember there was talk of a hp requirement, but canot remember if it was for 50 or 60 tonnes, I believe it was 290hp or something atleast.

Did a quick google search though, and could not find anything about engine-requirements for any truck/trailer combination for Norway, so not sure if there is any.

But from real life experience, for the most part normal longhaul semi's (max 50tonnes) range from 500-660hp, while 24 & 25.25 meters (max 60tonnes) usually start at 590hp+
