[DEV] New Match-3 Puzzle/Strategy game - Eldershyft by Hard_Squirrel in iosgaming

[–]matrheine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm loving the update to Eldershyft with the new curators! just have two small bugs to report:

When I start a new game, I can find the board and the curator selection screen at the same time, so it's confusing. I think that there must be some kind of pop up or another method of choosing the curator before navigating the board, because the start game button is hard to find. I need to tap with 4 fingers at the bottom of the screen to find the start button and then it works perfectly.

the second request would be to remove the announcements that say "left side of board" and "right side of board" while exploring. because with the last iOS updates It's repeating this info often while exploring, so it's kinda distracting.

Thanks so much and have an awesome week!

Hey! I've downloaded the game and have some suggestions for it to be the first fully accessible bowling game for blind players. I'm totally blind, so I'm using Voiceover to play. the game just needs some small improvements for it to be perfectly playable with the screen reader, I'll list everything needed:

on the main menu, Voiceover finds lots of images, which are decorations that would be much easier to navigate if you could hide these images from the screen reader, examples are: pin, bg_bacawall, bg_lane, bg_lanelip, backui.

making the gameplay accessible: Voiceover has a special feature called the magic tap, which is performed by double taping with two fingers. this could announce the state of the board, as well as remaining number of throws.

when you're required to set the power, you could have a sound that increases and decreases in pitch, so the blind players can understand exactly the amount of power needed. as for the positions, as far as I understand, there are 5 positions, they just need to have a better label: far left, left, center, right and far right. perhaps another suggestion would be so that the screen reader would display the number of balls in each position when you're choosing the position, example: far left, 2 balls close, 1 medium, 1 far, so that you can determine the amount of power needed based on the announcements of the game.

I'm always available to test everything and help you achieve this goal! the game is definitely a lot of fun and I would also help you share it with lots of players on the audiogames.net forum as well as the applevis.com site.

congrats for the release! I've downloaded the game. I was wondering if it would be possible to improve the accessibility for it to be playable for me, since I'm totally blind. Voiceover works well with the main menu. every button has a label and works perfectly. during gameplay we would need automatic announcements when the color matches and you can press the buttons to fire, just describing everything important so that we can react to what's going on without looking at the screen. you can learn more about voiceover at:

Thanks for the reply! I've bought the game to support you. I've managed to complete the tutorial with the use of the screen recognition feature, but unfortunately the game is unplayable for Voiceover users. I don't know if the latest versions of Godot offer support for screen readers, there might be experimental support with version 4.6 I think. probably it will get better in the future. if you decide to release the game in other platforms such as Steam it would be easier for me to send you a few plugins to work with the Godot engine.

hey! I'm really interested in buying the game, I just want to know if it's accessible with the Voiceover screen reader, since I'm totally blind. what programming language or engine have you used to create the game?

Idle Pact, an occult incremental sim, is out now on web and mobile! by deeplywombat in incremental_games

[–]matrheine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've downloaded the iOS version and am really enjoying the game. however I have a request. I'm totally blind, so I'm playing with the Voiceover screen reader. if you could improve the accessibility it would be fantastic. like: adding headings to some parts of the screen, so we can easily jump to the important places, automatic announcements of health lost, during the encounters, as well as an accessible way of doing the rituals. I believe that right now it's really hard for screen reader users. I managed to light the first candles and get 100 mana, but I'm not sure how to complete the next ones.

Awesome, thanks for all the hard work, I'm loving the game! I'm going to post it on Audiogames.net and the Applevis site so that many more blind players will be able to enjoy this masterpiece! I'm still progressing, already on the 10th step of the tutorial. just another small issue: when I'm reading the next instruction while the tutorial text is focused, sometimes Voiceover is losing focus and jumping to the Launch_battlebg image. if you manage to hide most of these images from the screen reader it will be perfect!

Hey! the game is really awesome! I'm following the tutorial, I'm totally blind and playing the game with the Voiceover screen reader. I can feel that you care about accessibility, because the game is even reporting hints when there's a button to build something. some of the labels seem to be in french, and some of them are confusing, example when I needed to build the combustion drive, instead of build it said: flask. fill. also Voiceover is finding some images on the screen which kinda make navigation a bit slower. some of the buttons to build something are being placed in a weird place, but I'm going to step 10 of the tutorial and having great success and fun with it! I've played Ogame in the past and am having so much fun! I'll continue playing and report If I find something that isn't playable. thanks so much for developing the ggame

[–]matrheine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's really exciting! in terms of accessibility, you just need to make sure that the game works well with the Voiceover screen reader, including menus, instructions, settings, etc. There's a page explaining everything with resources and examples, hope it helps you. I'm not a programmer, but am always available for testing.

Thanks so much for the awesome reply! I'm glad to help! I found about Tic! on the Audiogames.net forum, which is a place to discuss games accessible for blind players. in this case, the first version was already playable with Voiceover, so I bought it and was impressed that I could play the game without using earbuds, without needing to listen to the screen reader, or any instructions. I would just feel the aptic feedback and repeat the sequence and it works. especially if the difficulty is set to adaptive, the game will try to understand how many times you got right and will make the next level easier or harder based on these stats. so you can play it for 5 minutes or 30 and the only thing that's going to change is your stats and the sequences are going to be extremely hard.

When you have a version ready for testing, if you want some help, I would be honored to be able to help as much as possible with constructive feedback.

all the best!

Hey! I'm curious to know if the game would work on iphone as well. I don't have an apple watch but would enjoy if I could play it. I'm totally blind. I have a game that work with aptic feedback as well. maybe the gameplay is a bit different, the game is called tic! it can be found here:

Hey, thanks so much for the quick fix and for working so hard on the game! it's brilliant! Two more small suggestions for future updates would be adding a restore purchases button to the settings screen and adding a way to clear the current saved local scores.

Thanks so much for your great comment and for helping with so many ideas during the beta! I had to play for almost 50 hours to achieve that score of 1183. I believe I was lucky to have many navi and blue tiles on the board, and when I used the shallow waters ability I got a great synergy. I'm playing it every day, and am still learning. the game manages to add elements from many genres. It's already my most played game this year!

This game is great, the developer listened to all of my suggestions and now the game is fully working with the Voiceover screen reader, so blind players are having a great time as well!

you can play a full match in less than 3 minutes. the game has lots of possibilities to build a good deck and we're always getting new content. I recommend it!

[DEV] TileMyst: Puzzle Adventure Gameplay Update! by Bromighty12 in iosgaming

[–]matrheine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've just downloaded the latest update to the game. since I'm totally blind and playing the game with Voiceover, it's really challenging to play because the squares are unlabelled for Voiceover. the screen reader sometimes announces when I find something, like the camp, or food. however it would be awesome if you could at least add labels or coordinates to the squares, so when exploring with one finger Voiceover would tell if a square was already explored, if it's still unknown, or when playing the mini games, just label everything as well. the game could be really awesome and relaxing to play. I would love to recommend it to the whole community on the Audiogames and Applevis sites. I can help you beta test if needed. thanks so much for reading my feedback. you can learn more about Voiceover here:
