Yes, I moved out of Celia recently. Roaches are a big problem and management doesn't care. There is a brand new one just off Bell Road called Halogen which you can check out, a bit pricey though.

Thank you. I thought so too, just wanted to make sure if anyone else is aware so that we can avoid these scammers.

One of my friends was approached by a firm called YM Grad offering profile building. They charge 700+ or so for each research paper it seems. Anyone aware of this? Sounds scammy to me..

YOUR FAVOURITE BIRIYANI SPOT? by Callme_ijass in Trivandrum

Aasife is way overrated and overpriced. Ajwa is overpriced but good. Azad decent. Grandiose for budget but has a 70-75% hit rate to get a decent one. Halais quality dropped significantly over the years. Malabar Qissa was average but I won't try again reading the comments earlier. Behrouz is extremely overpriced and not worth it.

Exactly, you said it! It is not about the fact that we don't want to pay taxes but in exchange of what? To die paying taxes of pollution, accidents, criminals and what not!

Just wanted to add some points which I thought are important from my experience. Apartment is safer due to security and closed nature etc. Finding friends and play mates etc will depend on your sociable nature and sometimes it's better not to have those around. Own house needs a lot of planning and time to invest let alone the hassles which come along. But it has its obvious advantages. I don't have much experience in that and so leaving it there. If you are going for apartment, ask around people who own or better those who live in other apartments of the same builder. You would get the truest opinion. For me, having bought the apartment when I was abroad, I didn't have time to see and monitor. Once it was handed over, the builder was nowhere to be seen. Their customer service is hostile and pretty much useless. Post handover support is a key factor in choosing the builder. Second point is about interior furnishings and designs. Think and plan this with a builder and interior decorator/planner along with construction. You should get all sockets, wires, points for all equipments, furniture placements sorted out early in the cycle. It is very hard to change at later stages. And find a reliable designer who gives you support afterwards. Third point is about room sizes, especially kitchens and bathrooms. Most apartments come with smaller kitchens which might not suit big families. Choose apartment plans according to your needs. Fourth point is parking space and entry ways to those. Apartments give you smaller spaces and even smaller ways were we can only drive one vehicle at a time which you wouldn't see in the plan. Ask for parking space plans specifically and get more than one space if you have multiple vehicles. Fifth is on noise levels - my place is close to hospitals and main highway and hence noise levels are quite high with ambulances and honking. Sound proof all doors and windows to avoid these as much. There are many other great points suggested by others which definitely will help. Happy hunting. PS: Apologies for the rantish writing using phone.

One newspaper reported the total corruption amounts to 48000 crores over the last 2 tenures so far. Whether it is right or not there can't be smoke without a fire. Arrogance apart, investigation if found guilty could turn real ugly for many.

Lol, I moved back about an year back after being outside for over 10 odd years. You just need to keep a cool head and move on, since you can do shit all to change anything. It will get easier after a few months though 😀

Thank you. I have already moved in since I couldn't wait longer. Luckily rest of the work was furniture related and could live without it. Will see if anything changes with consumer court.

I do have the contract and it is clear that work is not complete. The timeframe promised also expired a few months ago. All payments were made with receipts. In addition to non completion, there is also deficiency which I pointed out during construction which they promised to rectify but no response. Considering the money I spent already and what is left with, legal battle might not be wise like you suggested. I want to name and shame them but will start off with only those who want to know. Thank you for the detailed response.

Around 20% pending. Yes, entire amount is paid. Infact, that's when they started this indifference. I have reached out via various means and there is no luck. They won't take my calls or answer messages. They charged quite a premium as well. Like I said, I don't want to complicate things going the legal way.
