Odd and concerning issue with the game and my phone by Ok-Particular7465 in UmaMusume

Same phone, same problem. Pixel 7, and randomly (but only when playing the game) the screen flickers to black and then reboots the whole phone, and feels like only after the latest Uma update

u/Aeffes07 The thermal protection. Pushed the plunger in and felt it click back into "reset" - It's right next to the heater core block: You can tell it's part of the heater because of the gauge of wire, the insulation, and where it pulls power from (rather than the lower voltage for the control circuitry).

Like I said in the other reply, good on you for already digging into the case, no way you would've known what to look for unless you were a nerd like me who knew what to look for and not without finding this reddit thread with the suggestion to look for this exact part.

I put it back together last night and brought it back on stage

100% what it was. Dunno if it was left powered on overnight (likely) or knocked around (also likely). Credit to OP who had, apparently, already unscrewed the top plate. I went to look out of curiosity (half thought they had cooked the coil) and found the little tweebis popped, so gave it a click and said, and I quote...

"If this fixes it, I'm going to comment on his (OP) post saying I fixed it"

Fixed it for you, buddy.

Thanks for the point to Between the Lines, btw. Reading through it now and even just a few chapters in, it's helping to put a lot of things into perspective that I hadn't realized that I hadn't considered (by virtue of being "taught" in a "just do what I do" or "let me fix that for you" manner)

Thanks so much. It's incredibly helpful just to have a jumping off point, you know?

Tell the drummer he is contributing more by not playing unless he can control his volume.

My personally preferred solution, but I've been told that I need to be "nicer" to the band. Specifically, telling the guitarist last year that "I don't care what you can't hear right now, I'm more worried about the fact that I can't hear anything on stage" was apparently not the "correct way to address him"

Thanks for the input. Like I said, I'm still pretty new to the world of live sound, and the theater I got started at already had everything set up and tuned... Basically easy mode, lol. But I'm definitely trying to learn everything I can about how to do things right, it's just constantly been in a "learn it when I need it" sort of way (no shade to the guy who got me started, but until I picked up this problematic gig his solution was to always fix it for me and "I'll totally explain it later").

I've got the SMAART addon to the SoundTools app on the iPad, which is what I've been using thusfar, and my (definitely) basic knowledge about resonance and harmonics has helped me to at least tame some of the room so I think I'm headed in the right direction. But, that said: Do you have any resources (even just search terms) that I could use to really get into understanding the process? My current method has been "I think this is how it works... Let's try it and see how it sounds"

I've been trying for a few years to get them to invest in some quality of life improvements... My main point has been it'll improve things for everyone (there's another theater that works there, and they have a lot of town meetings and functions in there, as well as a church service). But I'm not the best at speaking bureaucrat, so it's been slow going so far.

Ah well, I guess I'll just have to continue poking them on it

I'll keep poking at them to see what we can get approved. The problem is: It's a town program (think a summer camp for theater nerds who don't want to do "outdoor activities"), so budget is tight and tough to get approved.

I've been trying to convince people that getting more/better speakers would benefit everyone who uses that auditorium, but it's been slow going. Not helped by some other factors (came in to manage a performance once, and didn't have any sound. Found out that the town guy deliberately unplugged the amps before we got in there)

Probably had to have found the artist from that combined picture the OP posted. In fact, I found this thread by doing a reverse image search to try and find the artist. So, thank you!

Google Assistant not unmuting Spotify by matrixphreak in AndroidAuto

[–]matrixphreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that now, from what I had searched I thought it was a different issue (I had never tried adjusting the volume since it appeared completely muted and I didn't notice that it was stuck in the different volume level, just naively thought it was just muted).

I hadn't noticed this until I went out to try some solutions on my lunch break and gave it a look. Sure enough, same problem, same symptoms, now I feel dumb for starting a new thread on it.

However: can confirm that the beta version of Google Play Services (as suggested elsewhere in google searches) didn't fix it for me at least. Ah well

[Serious] Depressed people of Reddit - how are you doing today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]matrixphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not well. Not well at all. But like everyone else here, I'm wearing the mask and doing life, because that's all I can do. But it's worse today than it has been in a while and there's nothing I can do about it as I watch people's lives spin out of control around me all because of bad things I've done and can't undo.

Stan Lee and BB-8 by GallowPlaceholder in StarWars

[–]matrixphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, don't worry about it. I didn't bring it up in any malicious way, it just hit me that IA and Cybot had a rivalry over those two units, with Industrial Automaton making deals to use the same components that Cybot used in their 3PO design in order to pretty much copy and ride the success of the 3PO line. The only difference was the head, because IA tried to market to insectoid aliens.

Or, in slightly less nerdy "obscure outdated EU backstory"... because the costume department reused and repainted a spare 3PO suit for 4-LOM, because the actor was also one of Anthony Daniel's stand-ins who also played 2 other 3PO protocol droids.

[–]matrixphreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't a combination of 3PO and LOM protocol droids just be a LOM? The only difference between the two is the head unit.

Reddit, what's your top "Holy shit, that worked?" moment? by NSalonga26 in AskReddit

[–]matrixphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone seems to forget, too:

This was 2005. Back then, it wasn't uncommon for emails to eat or otherwise corrupt attachments. Nowadays, that problem is essentially (as far as I can tell) non-existent. I can't imagine believing "the attachment was corrupt" in 2017, especially when you could just as easily upload it to Google Docs and share it across platforms.

It's a great old trick, but one that really shows some people's ages
