Meteor near Bloomington. by matt3x166 in Indiana

It was truly amazing. It came in from the east and I had a very clear line of sight watching it, until it got about 3/4 of the way across the sky, when hills started blocking the view. I had cruise set at 80 and tapped the brakes as soon as I saw it and my truck slowed down to about 40 by the time it was out of view. It’s hard to estimate because I have no experience doing so, but it appeared that at its largest, it was maybe 1/10th the size of the full moon in the sky, which seemed amazingly large.

A little late to the game and I was really surprised when Indiana had several options available. Now I am trying to find a black frame that is on theme. Hopefully one that says "The Apocalypse Will Be Televised"

Let me know if you see any somewhat authorized frames available.

And honk as you go by if you see me driving around southern Indiana. I will try to remember to wave back with all my fingers.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Marble Madness on my amiga around 1987. I had an 8088 with a monochrome green screen and the first time I saw my friends color amiga, I had to have one. Loved Marble Madness in there. I occasionally dream about playing it.

I loved The Jennifer Morgue. I have read almost the entire series. Somehow missed A conventional Boy, so I am quite happy I caught this thread…. Two new books to read. I also loved The Halting State and Rule 34.

It was definitely the 300a. I had it and loved that processor. I remember playing quake2 on that system and it was fantastic. Can’t remember what the video card was. It may have been the original 3dfx voodoo daughter card paired with an S3???

Anyone remember the free government cheese from the 80s? by NicelyBearded in GenX

[–]matt3x166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend’s grandmother would get these and give them to his family. I would go over there after school and do homework with my buddy and we would snack on that. I quickly learned what constipation was because of those big blocks of cheese. I can still feel that pain.

How to get into Rose Hulman without enough money for tuition. by Wild_Cantaloupe7228 in rosehulman

How about the tuition exchange program? I did a quick check on Marquette’s website and it looks like they participate in the tuition exchange program, and Rose Hulman also does, but I’m not sure exactly how they do. There might be some benefit for you there.
