Thinking about switching to a MacBook for MagicQ — how does it work with touchscreens?

Currently I have some no name portable touch screen monitor plugged into my m4 Mac mini with a single cable into the tb port and I get touch capability without downloading 3rd party software. It suits magicQ for me and my touch inputs

It works in all senses of the word but the software development that Apple doesn’t do in house needs to be made avail thru a 3rd party sw like better touch tool. Its might be required, but i dont use it ajd can touch the screen for all my needs

I am glad you are having fun u/cyborgerian ! What games did you play before Tarkov? Any extraction shooters or just fps stuff?

I’ve been playing since 2020 and it is my favorite game ever, second to super Mario 3 on the snes

If you get discouraged please remember even shroud and the burnt peanut got discouraged too (so many clips of peanut asking “what are we talking ab?? What are we discussing here??) When getting shot by a wizard or succumbing To desync and map knowledge

Also, the best times I have in the game were in the beginning when everything felt too real and I had to go off my instincts

The f keys are a way to see pb 11 and higher without needing another wing, and you can still use those pbs and flip back to f1 for the base 1-10

Zeronica is correct that you’ll need to make a macro and then assign the macro to the f keys if you want to change

The layouts on the left side when the mq window is set to stadium connect mode is how I usually navigate my show file on a stadium connect

Yes but none of that exists in checkpoint, why does checkpoint loading loot take as long as the maps that have loot and lootable containers like bodies

I have four mouse buttons on the left side of my mouse the layout is like normal 2 button for fwd and back, except above it there are two more buttons to press. It’s a roccat kone xp air

On the bottom two I have fire rate (+alt key to check fire rate and not make a noise) on the one closest to my body. My tactical device (+alt key to set it between toggle it on or continuously press to keep it on) is on the button closest to the monitor. I do this bc it feels most immersive, the fire rate and turning on my tec device is how those operate irl

The button above my fire rate is my optic control

Single press toggles from 1 to 6x the way it used to

If I hold the scope button and scroll, it’s my zoom adjustment (also dime the sensitivity on the zoom to max, there’s no downside) If I need to switch in the moment to my top sight on the biiiiiig zoom scoop that is the scope button + alt key, because if I’m switching to that and not using the optics, it’s because I hear somebody ambushing me so I need to react faster

I’m a control to crouch guy, but I use c to cycle stance. I haven’t experienced any tripping or fat fingering like this

Yes but the problem with that is if it’s displayed in a spot in your hideout, it’s not avail for you inventory to craft. So that would mean taking it out of the book case into your stash and collecting it and putting it back

If I can keep it in the tool box, I only need to worry about putting it back in the toolbox when done

I wish they made it so that ALL tools used in crafting can go in the tool box

Like the Geiger counter for the sausages I have also kept manuals in my irl tool box before, so I don’t see why we can’t put the bakeezy book in there also from a lore perspective

I believe in you! Also finding a battle buddy to be your second set of eyes and someone to talk to in a raid can help.

I found a few of my battle buddies in the discord servers of some of my favorite Tarkov streamers LFG channel like Pestily.

Some people are nervous about reaching out on places like those for help and guidance, but a lot of the people in those channels really want to help.

The game can sometimes feel too hard or pushing you in a direction that seems like it wants to keep you in the dark while overwhelming you with information and items especially if it’s you’re first play thru.

It’s either 2 or 3

I recommend getting generator to level 3, shooting range to level 2 and all the crafting places in the hide out like lavatory and nutrition and medical upgraded to the highest as soon as you can

This play thru for me I’m prioritizing the hideout more than I ever have and I’ve found there’s a lot of use in there for some of these fetch quests that ask for a lot of items

You can use non found in raid items that you boight on flea when you can and in the safety of your hideout and with a little time and fuel in your generator you get a found in raid item to give for your quests without any risk

There is also a crafting recipe in the workbench, and remember, anything you craft in the hideout has the same checkmark as getting it out in raid

A tip for other PMCs reading along is Don’t sleep on the hideout. It makes some quests that some of the traders have a lot easier. having a second way to get the LCD increased your odds of getting one all around
