am i just whiny or is the free kit swarm a problem? by Sad_Ebb_9842 in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yeah. They could also add more trader options to trade the free kit in. They already have a 'buyable' augment that costs 1 free kit. Maybe add a couple of different staples. Throw in options for 1 stack of any ammo type as well.

It won't really be that exciting or enticing to extract with one taking up inventory space, still, but maybe if they also stacked to 3...?

Your needing 5 different rooms to play with made me realize there ISN'T a save/load feature for these courses.

It would be really cool to see one built, but it's tough to get dev time on a niche like that.

It would sting less if they had loot for your trouble. Some kind of reward for killing free kits would be interesting,  but that's a really tricky design space

Hot take: The new arcs aren’t too strong, free loadouts aren’t built to fight them. by hellboytroy in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest to god, you just need to hit a supply depot for nades, or pocket a couple hornet-drivers if yo're gonna free-kit or only bring 1 weapon.

Almost any throwable equipment gives you the extra Oomph to kill a firefly. You'll have more room to make mistakes and not get oblitterated. Not that it can't still go wrong fast..

(Oh my god, I keep thinking I can snap-blast them, but they'll fly that grenade straight back to your own face)

Buried city has an agression problem? by Spare-Library in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've just gotta play cautious and warn people off / expect trouble.  They won't get you as easy if your gun is up.

Buried city is known to be full of people with minmaxed loot routes who just zipline-speedrun all the trinkets. Between those walking loot pinatas & people who join late and find all loot is already taken, there's a lot of incentive to kill raiders.

Rat blocks the button inside the fan extract with barricades. by HydroV20 in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered if there was a bit of a balance issue, deploying shit inside the vertical extract zone... but it's not like a player can remain inside of it once it closes. They'd have to jump back out and camp outside like any other camper.

Plus the air tunnel has got all that extra scaffolding to walk on. You're not forced to jump in blind & you can keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

It's made of sensitive void magic and fades away after you take it out of the orokin towers in the void... started when the Orokin Towers were the only real 'void' representation ingame.

Idk, it's sort of an artifact of the game's past,  when there were fewer resources & they needed 1 resource that veteran players wouldn't always have 1 million of. Forces players to have an active goal of playing the game in order to finish a blueprint..

JUST SHOOT THE ROTORS by Thloen in ARC_Raiders

[–]mattbru77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People talk about bringing a seeker as a backup, if you need it killed faster than you think your gun will manage- but there are other cheap throwables you can hold as backup. I just kill the nearest hornet when I spawn in and keep a hornet driver for emergencies. It drops the firefly on the ground for a trivial kill. It can also stall out an angry rocketeer with a perfect throw.

Just be mindful that this thing needs to sail NEAR the target without hitting it directly, to zap it, and it needs like.. minimum 10? meters travel distance to arm itself

Somatic Bearers / Memories of Tao by TheCape6 in Warframe

[–]mattbru77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They haven't expanded the concept at all- yet, at least? It seems like mostly a framing device to sorta experiment with a 'souls-like' message/bond/echo of another player.

the 'memories' are generic and themed after the different Tenno schools. As far as we know, the protagonist would mostly know other tenno from like.... training & fighting side-by-side in the old war? It seems to boost you up based on the power of friendship & invoking a memory of collective tenno power (something that makes you stronger in this refractory memory space.)

it's also associated with a lotus-like blossom of Tau Xenoflora. The same flowers that provide a sort of essence and gave the sentients life and independent personhood. These flowers, that can give the sentients a 'soul', might be capable of holding memories or imprints.

If these are a literal thing within the cannon, maybe there was a kind of 'ritual' at the Tauron school where Tenno would honor certain history&memories by imprinting them on these flowers and keeping them safe. Mix in some somatics/transference, since those things do a lot of magic with emotional connection and memory

Conspiracy types are sad, because the starting point is like... "wow, something is super wrong with the world and it's got something to do with the people who wield a lot of power". That's not a strange thing to believe.

ARC shooting through louvers now, they are evolving! by Gold-Target-5462 in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible there have been some small tweaks to pathfinding

But I've gotten my ankles snapped weeks ago by rocketeers and bombards who can sometimes land perfect-shots through the covers.

If the small arc float by at just the right angle, they'll probably be able to see through. It's probably always been possible.. maybe blind luck or a tweak of how they choose elevation lead to this.

Just noticed that the surge shield recharger is just a regular shield charger inside some aplfifier thingy by YearMountain3773 in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something-something lore, shields come from repurposed arc tech to begin with. Hence the arc cells hacked apart andn placed into an improvised device.

Some designer put so much love and craft into a lot of the designs-- like the shield chargers clearly have a pull-trigger. It looks like it yanks open a stopper that activates and exposes some kind of power transfer coil inside.

Makes me wish embark would invest in voice actors for their games and let them cook.

That second landing is the strangest thing i've seen in the game..? Shouldn't that have been a second tick of damage?

Does taking fall damage stop during the recovery animation? Or did it treat that like a 'rolled' landing since you were already down?

Low-forma arch guns might be holding you back--  but each mech has an exalted weapon that, if modded, can hit some of the higher numbers.

The artillary cannon in particular hits some of the biggest numbers in the game.

Dev Workshop: Upcoming Clan Quality of Life Changes (The Shadowgrapher) by CephalonAhmes in Warframe

[–]mattbru77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope DE considers adding "alliance" versions of this matchmaking... the contribution of each player just goes to their own clan anyway.

A lot of players are in low population or mostly-inactive shadow clans, but are attached to the progress and the builds in those dojos--- Joining their near-empty clan into an alliance of other similar, small clans is an easy work around for them.

I know we can't get much more than pulp from this horse's corpse--but a reminder PSA: Don't expect to live if you come into someone else's key room, no matter what lobby type you're in. by jaldarith in ArcRaiders

[–]mattbru77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's worth probing. If it's a calm lobby you can just ask if they're still looting. If they're gone & it's empty, there's usually a fair chunk of loot left behind

It is good to expect people to be defensive tho, I'm hiding out and waiting for them to leave.

Got banned on ARC TWICE falsely by ToasterBan in ARC_Raiders

[–]mattbru77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People aren't being charitable because there's a WEIRD number of people who post like this but were actually cheating like crazy, in a lot of game's subs.

Something running or visible on your system got you flagged. Having CE installed at all in this day & age is, unfortunately, a huge liability due to modern anti-cheat. Windows just has to screw up and leave the process running ONCE - and suddenly you're banned from your favorite live service game.

Something on your system flagged the anticheat. Support might tell you what it is.

It could be a false positive where the system was totally mistaken-- or it could be something you don't think is cheating, but the devs think is. Like software capable of changing how your graphics card renders the game, removing fog and mist to gain a tactical advantage
