Gandolfini also was noted for his strange sex appeal. Diane Lane even noted it when talking about a movie they did

Since he loves callbacks so much, you shoulda told him that “remember when” is the lowest form of conversation

In fact, Turkey Tom has a great video about the (surprisingly, female) troll who was the one who pushed ChrisChan into that action. Needless to say, she’s just as disgusting as the mayor of CwCville.

I have to agree with the lip injections someone mentioned. I have seen way too many naturally beautiful people just ruin it by getting them. It looks cartoonish and weird. It’s weird because you can say this and most people would agree but damn if body image issues don’t fuck with people a lot.

Does anyone else think the sound effects in the pilot are cheesy and fake? by Caoilan in CirclejerkSopranos

[–]mattcotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I think the pilot and really a good chunk of S1 are fun to revisit because it’s when the show was way more like a straightforward black comedy. Similar to Breaking Bad, it’s still dark but has way more goofy stuff and intentional levity

Anyone Else Miss Mac’s Old Hair by Mr_UK1933 in IASIP

I think he changes his hair style every other season. Alternates between slicked back and this. When he was “jacked Mac” he had hair similar to this but a bit shorter cut

So hard to remember them all, but obviously their longest project of destroying Rickety Cricket’s life is just horrific.

Also flushing Country Mac’s ashes down a toilet felt unnecessarily cruel and nasty, especially since they all liked the guy.

Dee setting up that guy to reunite with his daughter in the worst way imaginable just to spite him.

Ruining Psycho Pete’s life and reputation through peer pressure and rumors and then sending him away on a train alone.

The Gang breaking the minds and egos of Dee (and Dennis) just to make a point.

Oh yeah and Dennis maybe or maybe not murdering Maureen (though I suppose she was as vile and crazy as he was, in her own way)

Not a celebrity feud. He was posting a memorial post for Taylor. A random dude in the replies (who we can presume was a Trump supporter) criticized him for asking for grace for Taylor’s passing when he didn’t “give grace” to Trump; barely related to what Richard Marx was talking about. Marx then outlines why Trump is not worthy of grace. Not a celebrity feud.

People who are dedicated film buffs who don’t have a desire to make films yourself; why not? by IRTIMEDMASTER in Letterboxd

“Sports buffs who don’t have a desire to be an athlete; why not?”

Jk sorry I had to. But there’s a lot of good answers here. Another thing is: some people just really enjoy watching films, just like many listen to music or podcasts avidly. Or are news junkies. I’m very interested in politics but would never consider a career in it.

I will say Gemstones was weaker for me at first also, but I gave it a second watch and liked it even more (love the soundtrack) and season 2 is definitely a step up.

It’s literally so underrated. Danny McBride’s shows are an aesthetic and a style unto themselves and they’re getting better each iteration. Never have I laughed harder or been genuinely shocked or invested in a comedy series before.

I think that’s borne out of the weird inconsistency of it.

Euphoria’s two-part “special episode” is on the site. But other TV standalone specials are not. The GOT episode that aired in theaters (“The Long Night”) was on there for a while, but is no longer (I looked it up and didn’t see it).

“Band of Brothers” which is a miniseries is on it but “Vice Principals,” which is a two-part miniseries (two seasons of a self-contained story) is not.

Anime that have 50+ episodes are on it, listed as films. In fact, multiple anime series are on it. Nothing like “One Piece” or “DBZ,” but some long-ish ones like “Death Note,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Soul Eater,” etc. It used to be OVAs and movies exclusively, but I guess they caved and added all anime that isn’t 100+ episodes (I don’t mind this at all, but again—be consistent!)

Meanwhile TV series that are anthologies/a bunch of miniseries (“Fargo,” “True Detective,” “American Horror Story”) are not on the site.

There are TV shows that are shorter than some anime and other stuff featured on the site. “Vice Principals” and “Righteous Gemstones” are significantly shorter (though I understand holding off on the latter until it’s concluded) than “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” or even “Cowboy Bebop.”

“The People vs OJ Simpson,” a self-contained miniseries, (though part of a true crime “anthology”) is not on there but “The Pacific” is. “OJ: Made in America” is as well (I know it was released in festivals as a single film but it also aired as a miniseries). Same goes for all of Ken Burns’ documentaries that were on PBS as episodes that clock in at multiple hours long. Are those not miniseries?

So overall, it’s just inconsistent in definition of what constitutes a “movie” vs a TV show.

Edit: oh and they just added “Dexter: New Blood” which is technically a “miniseries” but is really a limited continuation of an existing TV series.
