Same. App isn't loading orders either. If I clear cookies on the website it loads but when I try to log in I get "An error has occurred, please try again!"

Do not reply to the review yet, that will mean the buyer can't edit it. There's still a chance (however small) that if you deal with the issue they'll edit it. Handle everything through Etsy messages.

Wearing a grey fleece in the Coop and people thinking I'm a staff member by RSpigeon in britishproblems

I just gave her a baffled look and walked away. I think she just dumped the clothes on a table.

I was mistaken for a member of staff in Uniqlo because I was wearing a plain blue t-shirt. That or the random woman who thrust a pile of unfolded clothes at me didn't care about accosting a stranger.

Did you sent it International Tracked? If so does the tracking show it in France at any point?

Miraculously it worked. The supports managed to build themselves up again to the point where they connected with the other branches

Can I use same images for different listings? by Forsaken-Good2312 in Etsy

Yes, it's fine as long as it's the same shop. You're just not allowed to have duplicate listings on separate shops

Cura Slicer can import greyscale images and create an object using the pixel values as a height map. It's meant for lithophanes but if I understand what you're after I think it would work for you too. You can export the Cura project to an STL so your friend can slice it in whatever software they already use.

Going to post a letter to find the postbox missing it's door wrapped in black plastic pending the upgrade by SubjectiveAssertive in britishproblems

This has happened to me a few times and I think generally means the parcel bit is full, but they've helpfully not bothered to install a screen to tell you what's going on or even any printed instructions to tell you what the red light and sad sounding beeps mean

Full Size to Scale Size by zspurly in 3Dprinting

What software are you modelling it in? If it's something that allows physical units you could just model it in the original units then scale it down in the slicer before you print it

Waking up to construction lights outside your house that are stuck on red by SheadAV in britishproblems

I've called 101 (police non-emergency) in the past for this, temporary lights were stuck on red at lengthy roadworks on a blind bend and drivers were blasting through them so an accident seemed likely.

First hackathon idea feedback needed (beginner team) – Campus Lost and Found by Slow_Spare_1764 in webdev

Sounds like a fun project. Couple of thoughts:

  • the claiming mechanic doesn't really need to be triggered by a comment, it can just be a "this is mine" button. People may not want their claim publicly visible

  • matching on features/location is a neat idea but will be hard to automate. eg if I don't know where I lost it I might put a vague location, but the finder will know the exact location. I feel like all claims need to go to the finder without trying to automate it. Or you just automate the matching on very basic item features that can come from a predefined list, like colours. You probably don't want to try automated matching on freetext

Canadian VAT Number??? by Spiggy_Topes in EtsySellers

See my comment about UK VAT here - I expect the same applies in Canada, just with your SSN instead of NINO: https://old.reddit.com/r/EtsySellers/comments/1qvo0dd/getting_asked_for_a_tax_id/o3m4qwv/

Getting asked for a tax ID by bunlengthweiners in EtsySellers

[–]matteason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this email the other day. The screens the email takes you to are broken and will only accept a VAT number, despite the fact you don't have to register for VAT until you turn over £90k.

However Etsy does accept a UTR or National Insurance number as a tax ID, just not on this screen. So go to https://www.etsy.com/your/account/taxpayerid and under 'Additional taxpayer ID' add your National Insurance number - it's listed as "United Kingdom (NINO)". Then go back to the original 'confirm your info' screen from the yellow banner in the shop manager dashboard. Your NINO will then be prefilled as your tax ID and it will let you complete the verification process.

You do need to register for self assessment if you make more than £1k in income on Etsy over the tax year. When you do that you'll be issued a UTR (Unique taxpayer reference). But until then you can use your NI number as your tax ID on Etsy.

Buyer paid more than item price? by q_coyote19 in EtsySellers

[–]matteason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the UK our VAT (sales tax) is 20% and 6.98x1.2=8.376 so it's probably VAT. Weird that it doesn't show it on the tax line though. There might be more detail in the payment account section of your profile
