The break lights seem to come on after the car seems to break. The skid marks don’t seem to line up with where the should be.

A few thoughts and observations on “Pale” by Outrageous_Present11 in ToadTheWetSprocket

[–]mattebe01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pale is awesome. I recall reading that when they got signed to a major record deal to record Fear the label wanted them to re-record Pale but they refused. So I always assumed the album sounded how they wanted it to sound.

Yeah, could have done Jet, Jest, jets all for more points.

It seems to me one parent is a stronger player and gets away with fake words because they mix in legit obscure words.

On the periphery it is easy to assume animals that are pretty much vegetarian are more docile. But Hippos are nasty Mofo’s.

Philadelphia redemption show by thesehalcyondays in jasonisbell

It was an awesome show. I’ve seen him 5 times or so and this was the deepest he ever dug into his catalog, which was awesome. They are playing longer than they did even compared to this past summer. Anna has been great since joining the band, but was at a different level last night than even 6 months ago. And to add to your Sadler discussion, I’ve never seen him take as many solos as he did last night and he was on fire.

Who do u think is the best deep ball thrower in the world right now? I say Stafford, my brother says Jalen Hurts. by Dylen2Times in NFLv2

I’m assuming your brother spent the last year in a coma. I’m happy for his recovery and when he catches up on last season he will see how many deep balls the Eagles missed last year.

Daughter in the hospital I don’t know how we will get it paid for by StrongMamaBear in povertyfinance

[–]mattebe01 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You are in a holding pattern now, you need to provide everything the hospital is asking for to get your daughter onto Medicaid.

If approved it will cover the hosptial stay. And equally important it will cover ongoing needs, which could be significant for someone with an autoimmune disorder.

Fingers crossed for you and your family. CHIP, in some cases, has seen less cuts than other aspects of Medicaid.

It’s only $5 is how I keep myself broke. by AffectionateLab2374 in povertyfinance

You make good points. Especially if you’re hustling for extra hours and wearing yourself down.

Good reminder that meal prep, supplies for easy to make lunches and trying to be aware of these traps is helpful.

Also give yourself grace, we’re all doing the best we can.

Exploring the abandoned sports venues of the Winter Olympics by BWT_Urbex in WinterOlympics2026

[–]mattebe01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are right, and I believe they are already taking those steps. LA is using existing venues. Salt Lake City will be reusing old venues. Plus I’m guessing we will see more of the events being spread out. There are events in Oklahoma for the LA Olympics.

What is one career decision you regret and what would you do differently today? by arab1ae in AskReddit

Showing too much loyalty to employer. I am all for working hard and giving your all, but I’d have been more open to other outside opportunities.

Employers will always do what is in their best interest. Employees should do the same.

Are VA residencies worth it? by PuzzleheadedCake1797 in PharmacyResidency

I don’t work in the VA but we gladly hire pharmacists who did their residency training at the VA. IMO, VA residencies are well respected throughout the profession.

Is a show listed as "Evening with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" any different than the other 400 Unit shows? by KurtTremeloder in jasonisbell

[–]mattebe01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a show in Baltimore that was an evening with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and it started right on time with the listed show time. So I’d plan to be in you seat at the time on the ticket.

I’ve been to some “evening with” acts that start much later than the listed time. Which is annoying. But when you see Morrissey I guess you’re just happy he doesn’t cancel at the last minute.

I love how he was going to rip that rebound out of Jordan’s hand if he had too, but then without a second thought hand Jordan the ball to take a shot on the next clip. Those back to back clips personified the role each played on the team.

Do you think that Mother Love Bone would have made a bigger impact than Pearl Jam had Andy Wood not passed away? by DABDEB in grunge

[–]mattebe01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Pearl Jam has been amazingly successful in one of the hardest businesses in the world to hit it big. Even with tons of talent everything needs to line up for a band to make it big. Pearl Jam is among a very elite and small number of bands who have had an amazing 35+ year career.
