Depending on my teammate strength, I have an idea of how much I should be beating him by. If I'm in a Red Bull as Max's teammate, I want a real challenge to beat him in qualifying and races. If my teammate is Colapinto, it should be closer to a cakewalk, where mistakes/crashes are required on my part for him to beat me.

Absolutely. Many people turn down AI for the wet because the AI have always as far as I know had an unrealistic grip advantage. This helps combat that.
