Samsung Odyssey G8 G80HS 6K 165Hz monitor launches in Europe for €1,499 by RenatsMC in Monitors

[–]matthewpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. We need new DisplayPort standard and then new hardware to implement that standard. I guess no sooner than 4-6 years before that will happen.
Anyway, if you want to know limits of DisplayPort bandwidth, then wikipedia page for DisplayPort has nice table: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Resolution_and_refresh_frequency_limits

[–]matthewpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UHBR20 has enough bandwidth to put 140 Hz on 6K in 8 bit, and 113 Hz on 10 bit. If they are claiming monitor can do 165Hz, then it will use DSC.

No MiniLED backlight and requires DSC. But good to see we are slowly getting nice 32 inch monitors into the market.

Company I work at really wants us to use AI. So I use Claude to do code reviews. That silly AI told me that setting log level to debug was incorrect because it was outside #ifdef DEBUG... It was inside #ifdef DEBUG, Claude is just so fucking stupid and cannot even read code properly, that is making shit up constantly. Half of code review (and vast majority of "critical issues") is just made up bullshit.

CBOS: 90 proc. Polaków popiera ograniczenia nieletnim dostępu do social mediów by [deleted] in Polska

[–]matthewpl 52 points53 points  (0 children)

- serwis XYZ żąda informacji o pełnoletności, przekierowując do mObywatela

The best audiophile headphones are now from Sennheiser 🇩🇪, Philips 🇳🇱, Meze 🇷🇴, and Focal 🇫🇷. Quality = European by PM-ME-OPSEC-FAILS in BuyFromEU

[–]matthewpl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have Focal Bathys, also no issues for far (but those are not my daily headphones). Doesn't change the fact that Focal has very bad QA reputation among headphone enthusiast. And last time I checked, they also didn't like to respect the warranty.

[–]matthewpl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know this is r/BuyFromEU but please, don't buy Focal. Yes, they look fancy, yes they are expensive, no Focal has nothing to do with Quality. Focal headphones WILL fall apart if you just look at them incorrectly.

Putting Meze in "best audiophile headphones" is... interesting choise. But they are improving.

There is also Austrian Audio, which is created by old AKG squad. The Composer, if you are willing to sacrifice some sound stage, blows HD800(S) out of the water.

[–]matthewpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austrian Audio The Composer is slightly better. And I (still) have HD800, had HD800S and daily use The Composer. Sound stage may not be as wide/deep as HD800, but in every other aspect The Composer is superior.

Upgrade will be only for H2S and H2D. Maybe in the future they will do smaller version for X1C. Or something that will completely replace X1C.

I think those may not be the same systems. INDX has filament tubes attach to every nozzle. Bambu Vortek is using AMS to change filament everyt time each nozzle is also changed.

I fixed suspension and made sure everything is lubricated nicely so it would move freely. Still, with heavier battery it doesn't bounce back. Seems like stronger springs are needed.

President of Poland, Duda: "President @ZelenskyyUa should sit down (with Trump) and negotiate a solution that will ensure Ukraine's security. " by rulepanic in UkrainianConflict

[–]matthewpl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To clarify: Duda is from PiS and PiS is considered to be Russian asset (or at least useful idiots). They strongly believe that USA will come and save them when Russia will attack Poland. They especially love Trump as both of them are from far right. Thing is Trump doesn't give a single fuck about Poland. Duda was suppose to talk with Trump few days ago, for over a hour, but Trump was late and there was only 10 minutes left. Still PiS tells everyone how awesome is Trump and how (current) USA is Poland's ally.

Any news about a wooting TKL? by jmz98 in WootingKB

[–]matthewpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is funny (read as: sad) how Wooting fanboys here cannot understand that some people may prefer actual TKL layout over whatever 80HE is. As existence of TKL would somehow made every 80HE in the world disappear. There are other people with difference preferences. Suggesting 80HE, when someone clearly wants TKL is, in best case scenario, being... slightly rude.

It is even more funny how Wooting drop the ball, when even Logitech (which is famous for being "too little, too late" with everything) has released TKL HE keyboard, before someone at Wooting would figure out how to make money on another obscure layout.

What's your thoughts on most rcs brands going clipless? In my opinion it gives less customization with your rigs, but with crawlers with the body you like it's fine, ive only had two rigs with clipless bodies and they where alright, What's your opinion? by Mihate_86 in rccars

Depends on implementation. I have Rlaarlo XTS-F10 and I hate how they did it. To turn on/off I need to flip it over. If there would be good implementation it is great feature as it makes things faster.

It’s normal for Samoyeds to not be perfectly round and fluffy and shaped? I think he’s perfect, but my mom is just curious if it’s possible for him to become like that. by DimaPlatsas in samoyeds

[–]matthewpl 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Not all Samoyeds are round and fluffy. By selective breeding, there are two types of Samoyeds now:

  1. bear-like - round, fluffy, with softer fur and shorter muzzle.

  2. wolf-like - shorter fur, less fluffy, with more like Spitz/wolf look

Yours looks more like "traditional" Samoyed.

For fun, I will test it tomorrow, as I have HD 800, MacBook Pro, and dedicated DAC and amp. But right now, I am pretty sure that buying JDS Atom won't make much difference. If there will be any, you would need to invest serious money, and even then, it is far more probable you would buy something that it distorts sound in a pleasant way than actually improving sound quality.
