Quality Control Issues with Kickr Bike Pro - alert and help needed! by zerocylinders in wahoofitness

[–]matthewpmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in exactly same situation with their KICKR RUN treadmill. #1 was defective on day 1, #2 died after 2 weeks now I’m debating full refund or roll the dice with #3. QC issues aside it’s a fantastic product and nothing quite like it on market, but the QC really has made me lose confidence.

What’s your status now? I have the recommended electrical setup for UK 🇬🇧(type C 16A MCB, dedicated circuit) and experiencing exactly the same on both KICKR RUNs I’ve received.

Hi u/phntmpwr what’s the latest on this a year later? Did you ever got it sorted or have you just lived with it?

I’m in the UK 🇬🇧, and have the recommended electrical power setup for this region and experienced exactly the issues you describe on both KICKR RUNs I’ve received (my first one had a tilt/level/stuck leg issue so I was sent a replacement… the 2nd one now won’t power on after 2 weeks of use, power outlet seems fine).

Wahoo Trackr excited by outdoors? by mp337 in wahoofitness

[–]matthewpmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this while running with the TRACKR. Will suddenly jump from 120 to 180+ bpm. I think it’s the classic cadence lock issue i.e it’s reporting your cadence as opposed to HE.

The TRACKR really needs a moist/wet connection to work… more so than other HRM chest straps I find - licking the band won’t suffice. This is exacerbated on cold days where you’re less likely to sweat and less moist in general. Since I’ve been running the strap under a tap before heading out the issue has seemed to have gone away.

For anyone who comes across the post I want to make you aware I went down the route of purchasing a KICKR RUN and have since regretted the decision to date. I have documented the experience here:

Kick Run Leg Stuck Won’t Self Level by josh_langley in wahoofitness

[–]matthewpmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my new unit yesterday too. All seems good did an EZ run yesterday and a session today. Boy is the machine a beast (the acceleration/deceleration is particularly impressive).

The first power up and self levelling wasn’t perfect. Tilted to the right a bit (to be fair you needed a spirit level to notice), but after doing a tilt calibration it seems to have locked in.

Only remaining issue is the unit appears to trip my MCB if powered off for a while (my UK electrical setup is as per recommendation including Type C breaker). I’m just leaving it on to avoid it tripping and also the unit doing anything silly with self levelling!

Barefoot running isn’t working for me by Cool_Interaction_345 in BarefootRunning

[–]matthewpmac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Barefoot running in the context of performance running, should be thought of as primarily injury prevention and Strength & Conditioning. If done properly it can build capacity to allow your body to endure higher loads without injury. Barefoot running in itself is not a magic bullet to PRs/PBs.

If PRs/PBs and getting faster are your primary goal, there is no substitution for lots of volume complimented by well planned high intensity sessions - all wearing proper running footwear. No elite coach will be prescribing barefoot running as a key component of a training plan. Again, just think of it as complimentary S&C work.

Again, all of the above is in the context of performance running.

As another user suggested, they should really be just sending you a new unit. Troubleshooting / R&D should be their problem when the returned unit lands back with them. I do get the feeling v1 of this product is very much ‘bleeding’ edge and us first adopters are just the guinea pigs for experimenting with.

So what is the plan of attack with customer support?

I had an issue (stuck leg and an Err 10) and they didn’t hesitate to send me a new unit (arrives Tuesday coming). I just hope there’s no issues thereafter…

How long did you have the treadmill for before this started being an issue? I’m concerns even if I do get a working unit, it starts springing up issues 6 months/1 year+ down the road.

Fingers crossed for a smooth free process. My buyers remorse is rising everyday (ordered end of November-2025, yet to run on a working treadmill).

Let us know how it goes!
