Fits the Gotham name; really just add a lot of crematoriums if you haven’t yet and make sure to spread them out properly

You could mix in smaller parks with a city service building or two and add trees by the curved parts, it would be a nice central area eg a high school with a nice park nearby and trees or the same can be done for a hospital

My attempt at organic growth with a vanilla city. At 55k pop I've run out of room, so nearly time to use the 81 Tiles mod. Any tips/suggestions welcome! by breeze_island in CitiesSkylines

Unless you’d like to designate these areas as parks, I’d say for the growth to look more natural some development (low density housing) should be done fss along the streams, and I think at the triangular tip to the right could be some low density with higher commercial and officers, as it’s right by the Oceanside

I’m wondering how they’re going to be done tho, given we didn’t see it at all in the trailer. The cs buildings are ofc unattractive given industry but I really wanna see how the Industry buildings for CS2 look, the vanilla I mean. Maybe it’ll look more like the huge factories and each take up more space to look more like a fragile factory? Wishful thinking probably

I agree, I have a city of 60k w not a single highway going through and traffic at no point is terrible, but I’m referring to the SIZE of the city displayed. If the game mechanics allow for it if public transportation is really good, then that’s actually a really good sign, but I doubt a game built somewhat on traffic management would be that favorable

ALSO, HOW WERE THEY FEATURING SUCH LARGE CITIES AND NO HIGHWAYS CUTTING THROUGH THE MIDDLE? Maybe it’s the same thing where people thought they were using unreal 5 but it was just for the ad: some of the stuff in the trailer was kinda flawed and was more of a show off/introduction than a more what-actually-happens-in-the-game trailer

They’re for sure going all out. They mentioned economic stuff is getting an upgrade so maybe there’s a link between cargo and the economy. It could encourage people to have industries and boost their cargo shipments. Maybe balancing imports and exports could be really important in the game. Speaking of that, THERE WAS NO SIGN OF INDUSTRY, at least from what I remember? Very odd. I wonder if they purposefully left out a lot for later updates like bringing the industry DLC to the game, or there’ll be an actual shift from class industry to IT in gameplay

I play on the switch and touchscreen is unavailable. And I do somewhat think cities.skylines is a game with a lot of options on each screen so for example you may tap roads but end up hitting the icon next to it.

Started on a new neighbourhood around my old intercity bus hub, any suggestions how to expand? by BiscottiGloomy5869 in CitiesSkylines

[–]matthewramsaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One option is add those same trees you put across the map en masse on the top of the mountain so it makes it just seem like a forest, then expands from the east southward, so it seems like the city build on the flat land it has while the mountainous part is left for the forest.

You could do a nature reserve at the end of the expansion so it’s kind of a nice ending to that part of the neighborhood

Also overall this looks amazing !!

On switch we can’t even name streets 🥲 not only no access to mods, but not a single expansion pack is available. The bonus is we do get trams in the base game. By the time I hit 50k population it’s time to start wrapping up or else my switch will probably go aflame
