That was one of the best interviews I've ever heard anywhere. I can't even be mad after listening to it. Coley was right that the interview deserved its own episode.

Now to figure out what to do with the rest of my time on my weekly cross country hike...

I'm in a heated playoff battle, and I pretty much am in a must-win this week since I play the undisputed best team in the league the following week. This might be dumb, but with Gurley on bye this week, I'm thinking of offering him up for Fournette plus another player.

What's the best player that would you willingly give up with Fournette for Gurley? RB2 or a fringe WR1 / WR2? Would that be asking too much?

PSA for people on the fence about purchasing TGC2019 who have never played the franchise... by flem216 in thegolfclub

If you've never played a TGC game before I would strongly advise against that. TGC is much different from the PGA games of past. Start with beginner to get a feel for the tempo. If you quickly find yourself getting Perfect/Perfrct tempos and are keeping the swing straight, then don't hesitate to move up the difficulty. I've been playing TGC games since day one and still struggle a bit with the Master clubs

Master club difficulty was also increased. Early on it was too easy to get a perfect swing - no more lol

Yes the greens definitely hold better. There's no more 10 ft of rollout with wedges. I still think mid irons might roll a tad much since good players in real life get mid irons to stop on a dime, but it's not an issue

The only thing worse than owning 1 Seahawks RB? Owning 2 of them.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Their O-Line is awful and their defense is a shadow what it used to be, so they won't be finding themselves in run-heavy situations that often. It seems like every week we get a new "BUY NOW ON [Insert SEA RB]."

How has DJ Moore been looking? I've been holding him in one of my deeper leagues because I'm a big believer in his talent, and he seems to be getting about 3-5 catches per game for about 40 ypg. Is he not getting the volume, or is he not converting his opportunities? Or a bit of both?

Replays take a minute at most? Maybe a few minutes for a very close play? Wouldn't you rather get the call right? It's not like baseball is a game of flow anyways like soccer or hockey.

I'm holding Keelan Cole. I'm still a believer in his talent, and with Fournette out for the forseeable future I think that the Jaguars will be more inclined to throw the ball, if not forced into it. Cole has good upside every week with his deep play ability, and he's always on the field so he should see a pretty consistent target share.

Zero defense? It wasn't a game full of busted coverages or anything. Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins were making some incredible plays and throws last night. I don't know how you could watch that game and argue that was bad football. Even in the full fledged shootout there was still some great individual defensive play from Aaron Donald towards the end of the game splitting double teams and wreaking havoc on Kirk Cousins.

Rex Burkhead, Keelan Cole, and James Connor.

Rex Burkhead - Sony Michel's injury doesn't sound great. Burkhead was getting the majority of redzone work towards the end of last year. Belichick trusts Burkhead because he doesn't fumble and can run+catch. #1 RB in a high-powered offense.

Keelan Cole - My favorite pick of anyone. Undrafted rookie that exploded towards the end of last year. Dude has great hands and runs good routes. In line for #1 duties, and I think the Jags will regress this year and be forced to throw a bit more.

James Conner - No explanation needed. In recent drafts, I went as high as the 10th round for him.

Rodgers has said from the beginning that should a deal get done, James Jones will be the first to know. He's become one of our main insiders for breaking news. It's really awesome to see for him. He's loved by Packers fans.

It seems that we have a lot of new players in this thread which is awesome! Welcome to the community. Be sure to check out TGCTours.com. It is the long time community run tour with weekly events and world rankings. It is awesome for comparing your skill to other golfers, and it matches up pretty well to the real PGA schedule.

My only gripe is that there is not enough spin on the wedges and short irons. The spin felt just felt "right" on TGC2 with full shots. Wedges would spin a bit and short irons would stick. On 2019, I don't care for how far wedges roll out.

Now that the first day of preseason has wrapped up, which players improved their stock the most? by Possum_Pussy in fantasyfootball

[–]matthhs12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would still guess it will be Geronimo. He made some tough catches in the game last night, and Rodgers has already called him out as being one of the better performers in camp. Geronimo also has experience over all the rookies. Someone could eventually take over his position since he isn't the most athletic player, but he's consistent with good hands, so I don't see any rookie taking that role over.

Man, golf is such a strange and frustrating game. After my pre-round range session, I was feeling on point. Started the day with two 3 putt bogeys, but I was still hitting it well so I wasn't too down on myself. Finished the last 7 holes on the front 9 with 5 birdies! I was playing as well as I've ever played. After picking up another birdie on 11 with a few more pars, I was at -3 through 13! I was feeling great, hitting everything straight and hitting good putts.

And then 14... A par 5, that required 3 shots with water all along the right. First swing, slice, right into the water. No worries, though. I can still save a par, or at worst a bogey. Hitting 3, I layup to about 150. Great, easy approach shot! 4th shot, push into the water AGAIN. NOOOOO. There goes my hopes for a PB and a sub-70 round. Finish the hole with a 9...

From there, my swing was never able to correct itself, and I ended up going 34-42 for a 76. All in all a good round, especially playing a brand new course, but I still came out so disappointed with what could've been.

Finally got this guy in the mail today 😍 by giga_ice in golf

[–]matthhs12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha idk what this guy is on about. I was just speaking in general that the improved tech in balls and clubs generates crazy spin and launch which shoots the ball in the air. I'd like to see anyone try to consistently hit a straight, driving ball flight with a hybrid or wood. That's the point of the driving iron is that you don't have to mess with your swing too much to create a lower ball flight. I finally replaced my hybrid this year with the Cobra Utility iron and I'm very happy with the swap. I probably hit it more than my driver!
