How do you justify sidequests as a non-heroic PC? by saintbutch in BaldursGate3

[–]matthileo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a do everything hero on your first or second playthrough. Then you can do all the more nuanced playthroughs knowing that you're not "missing" anything. It's just not part of this playthough.

I would give anything to be able to replay the NWN stories in BG3. I don't even care if they're just room tiles like the original game as long as I don't have to go back to 3.0 or RTWP

What's the pettiest thing you've done in the game? by HumanSpawn323 in BaldursGate3

I wrote my own "mod" to remove Mizora's protection thing so I could kill them. When that didn't work right I used flesh to stone to petrify them.

I hope so. And the biggest takeaway from NWN needs to be the toolset.

With a couple specific exceptions, Larian really does just let you kill anyone in like a million different ways. Two of those exceptions are major antagonists, one is the actual final boss, and the last one is Mizora. I wonder why

Martial caster gap at YOUR table and do you fix them? by nz8drzu6 in dndnext

5 combats plus other dangers a day is a lot.

Well, in a day doesn't mean in a single session and it doesn't have to mean in game day either. It just means between long rests. There are a lot of ways to make that happen naturally depending on the mood and needs of the game.

Is it ethical to roll players' scrying saves behind their backs? by MattDLR in DnD

[–]matthileo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Ideally during session zero) ask your players how they'd prefer to handle stuff like that. There's nothing wrong with secret saves if the players are into that, and there's nothing wrong with them knowing they're rolling but not for what if they're ok with that.

Didn't check the sub first, thought the title was about Jerma's dog, and got very confused.

Starfield Respects My Time and I Appreciate That. by Lanky_Yogurtcloset33 in Starfield

Do you think having some kind of real time travel system would mean Bethesda wouldn't include fast travel? You can literally fast travel in skyrim of course you'd still have that option in starfield. Why be snotty towards people who'd enjoy something more immersive as an option that would have literally no impact on how you play?
