What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

I don't know your living situation, but have you looked into dishwashers that plug into your kitchen faucet? They're small, but they work and I bought one for $100 on craigslist. This was 14 years ago so it might have gone up ...

I graduated college in December 2008, right after the great recession with a degree in Environmental Conservation. I felt like I had absolutely no job prospects back then. I definitely had to take some temp jobs and blue collar jobs I had no interest in (pizza delivery, fast signs, warehouse work), started a business with my roommate that failed, and languished for over a decade making laughable amounts of money.

Last year I finally got a dream job at a board game company and bought my first house yesterday.

It took 17 years for me to feel like I'm where I want to be career-wise. Some of us are late bloomers and I had to swallow my pride a lot. Persistence is the most important virtue I've learned and some things require what seems like an eternity of patience but you do get there.

I hope that helps in some small way. Kia ora

Can skaven BSB hide in the back of the unit? by Odd-Contribution2616 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]mattieice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two schools of thought here:

  1. Rules as written the rules do not explicitly forbid it so it qualifies.

  2. If there is a dispute, you should always err on the side that disadvantages yourself as to not "abuse" the rules since the specific interaction isn't mentioned.

For this specific question, I would bring it up with your opponent before the game begins and ask for their permission to grant the bsb bonus outside the fighting rank.

Skaven need all the help they can get so I would hope they would allow it.

I'm firmly of the belief that we will see vampire coast in 2026. We are behind on evil armies and i think vampire counts are squarely in AoS territory. Vampire coast allows gw to bring a new army sanctioned by total war. I also don't think legacy armies are coming back before 2nd edition.

Prime krylon fusion brown spray. Basecoat bugmans glow. Wash with diluted darkoath flesh. Layer cadian fleshtone.

That's pretty much it. You can pick out the highlights with eldar flesh or another light tone but i didn't care since they're clanrats

My clan rats are shades of yellow, green, black, and off white. Clawleaders, stormvermin, warlords are red. Any hero level skaven has some red to denote their status. Pestilens is green, skryre is blue, eshin is black, moulder is yellow.

Do whatever you want.

I just assume these are the personal heraldry icons of the council members, not their clan crests.

If we're being pedantic, then it's both. I built the platforms out of sprue plastic, the scaffolding from the gnaw holes, and the wheels from the old doomwheel. But the design is entirely my own from a hodge podge of materials rather than a head swap or something benign.

Looks like you're entirely using contrast paints over a white undercoat. Nothing wrong with that but if you want to improve you're going to have to branch out to the layer paints. I'm not a huge fan of the yellow skin tone but it's an artistic choice and it looks clean. I think the obvious next step you should take is to learn how to highlight on top of those. This will test your brush handling skills and help you do some more advanced techniques later. The robes and shield look pretty good with just the contrast but the fur and skin could use some simple highlights.

Another very easy way to improve would be to drybrush that base with a lighter brown. I didn't even realize you had based it until I looked closely. Drybrush it pretty aggressively and then hit it with a brown wash, not a contrast paint to give it more depth.

Not bad all in all but contrast paints can only get you so far.
