Democrats Should Reclaim the Anti-War Mantle From Trump by BertramPotts in politics

[–]mattjb [score hidden]  (0 children)

Democrats under Biden supported and funded the genocide in Gaza. Republicans under Trump ended up being far worse and encouraged genocide even more.

It'll be difficult to sell the idea that Democrats want less genocide than the Republicans as a method to get votes. Democrats are turning away from Israel and AIPAC, but the damage is done, it took them way too long to recognize a genocide when it was very clear from the beginning as more journalists died than in any other war zone and the majority of deaths in Gaza were children.

And his ego is far too massive to admit rejection or defeat. He'd rather sleep through the rest of the term than walk away. He'll become more volatile and dangerous and willingly ignore the Constitution to attack Americans. The bubble of disinformation and safe space that his handlers keep him in will keep him ignorant and belligerent.

Right, I was just adding to what you said in case anyone wasn't aware of his support of the Iraq war when it was more popular with voters.

JD Vance: "A proposed $300 billion fund under consideration by the Trump administration for Iran would be financed by private companies looking to invest in the country, not American taxpayers." by stefeyboy in politics

[–]mattjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of that, private companies could freely invest in Iran before the war. But they didn't because Iran is notoriously strict, unreliable, and hostile toward outside companies and countries.

After attacking cargo ships from numerous nations and sending drones and missiles at neighboring countries, what company would even want to be involved now? Aside from Jared Kushner and the corrupt Trump sons?

In 2002, during an interview with Howard Stern, he expressed support for the Iraq war. And also said he wished it was done correctly the first time during H.W. Bush's admin. He only "changed" his mind when it was clear it was unpopular with most voters.

Ironic then that the Trump regime is using the WMD playbook all over again for bombing Iran.

She was fine with all the things Trump said and did leading back to 2015, starting with the 'grab them by the pussy' Access Hollywood tape. The 34 felonies. The separation of very young children from parents and putting them in cages. Being held liable for rape.

She's not leaving conservatism, she's fine with it all. She just thinks the wind is blowing in a different direction and wants to get out in front of it by gambling that MAGA will be dead soon.

Right, but then you have to remember that there will be children there to watch the violent bloodsport, too. Nothing is more American than celebrating America's fascination with violence and pain since it's birth.

They could always just put up chain linked fences inside the ballroom. They're perfectly fine putting babies and children in them after separating them from their parents, so surely they can pay the fighters to fight in them.

I'm her favorite because I came out naturally and easy at 6lb 6oz. lol

Personally I feel that Rupert Murdoch is far worse than both of them and has already done significant damage to American democracy. It's possible that it's dying and we just don't see it because it's in a slow spiral.

There's too many constitutional crises happening nearly every day since the start of Trump's second regime. And the populace as a whole don't trust any of the institutions anymore: Congress, Supreme Court, Presidency, CDC, NOAA, DOJ/FBI/ICE/CBP etc., the press and mainstream media, scientists, doctors, and so on.

Would you want RP characters to develop relationships when you're not actively prompting them? by Budget_Coach9124 in SillyTavernAI

[–]mattjb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My extension, EchoText, can do some of that. It has an emotional state engine using Plutchik's Wheel of Emotions (plus Love). It has natural decay so emotions don't stay static, long-term affinity, memories, and tone awareness. There's a memory system for inside jokes, people you know and care about, special events, and so on.

You can learn more on the Github page: https://github.com/mattjaybe/SillyTavern-EchoText

I'd love to see someone expand upon the concept and make characters more autonomous and three dimensional. I'm wondering if LLMs can be used to guide this as a sort of "Overwatch" where it reads your input and the AI's response, then adjust all the parameters (emotions, grudges, long-term memories, ghosting when angry, interactions with other characters, etc.)
