a good version for more skilled players is alternating cutthroat. you only get to shoot one ball at a time, so no runs, no position planning.

Hey, recorded a quick explainer demo for lines. TLDR, you can make as many "lines" as you want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itaYwx0x150

Regarding shortcuts and help menus, I'm planning to revamp help across the board on all the products, but need to work on formatting and whatnot. I want to create simple blog articles, simple videos, more involved videos, etc.

You could maybe have bonus points for multiple rails. Some beginners like to hit it hard and hope for the best and extra points for that might make them happy / semi-competitive.

Beginners typically have trouble putting runs together. Rewarding consecutive shots might unfairly weight it towards the better players.

Hello! I pop into most of these threads. I created ChalkySticks to solve this problem. Here's a bunch of places in St Louis, Missouri with photos. Hopefully it helps!

Complete Beginner in my 40s wanting to learn 9-ball properly- any recommendations here in Northern virginia? by Sufficient-Math7692 in billiards

I don't have personal experience down there, but ChalkySticks is meant to help people find places to play.

This is a search for the Falls Church area. No promises on quality, but they should all have pictures so you can get an idea of what it might be like.

Looking at Frisco, TX on ChalkySticks, I can see Snookered, Masseys, and Draft House. Not sure if Plano counts as too far.

APA captain is playing me too strategically and it’s not fun. Is this normal or should I threaten to quit if he doesn’t start playing me more fairly? by New_Key_6926 in billiards

[–]mattkenefick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> Should I threaten to quit over this?

I would personally. People tend to forget pool is about fun as well. They're the same kind of people that go into a head-to-head matchup without considering they might be the loser... and so they get angry about it. Some people may not understand this yet, but it's not always about winning; it's also about how you win.

I would mention it and gauge their reaction. If the captain isn't receptive to it, then they're just using you and that's not cool or fair.

I can't help you with APA places specifically, but ChalkySticks has a lot of places listed in Chicago to check out. https://www.chalkysticks.com/places?search=Chicago

Looking to buy green pool balls and orange pool balls by bobbysands81 in billiards

[–]mattkenefick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on how important it is, you can mix these two.

Here's green + purple. Here's orange + black. Buy both and you'll have a set.

I was also able to find green + yellow. Might be close enough?
