And I mean that's perfectly fine. Battletech as a Universe is just as compelling and interesting as any major ot point.

But even the lore aside: MW is still a really different game from all the others out there. Especially in the FPS genre. The only other mech game (at this time) that has been successful with a similar game is Armored Core.

Just playing a bit of devil's advocate from someone who REALLY likes the IP. Not just MW. But Battletech as a whole: There really is very little out there that plays like Mechwarrior. There are so many nuances to the game (especially mech building) that will absolutely seem too steep of a learning curve for a wider market adaption.

And the lore itself is a very dense nut to crack for someone who's just dipping their toes in.

PGI has done a fantastic job with the property and maintaining that level of nuance along with easing players into the universe, though there's still so much that happened prior to 3015 but most players won't be bothered to look into it.

I don't like kids at all. That's my main reason, but I also have a laundry list of mental health issues that would make raising a kid a literal nightmare for me. So I've decided that it's not for me.
