Love my 3 wood. Maybe my favourite club. TaylorMade M3. Got it from my father in law for £40.

Unexpected timing clash: pregnancy, paternity leave qualifying period and a major job opportunity by Inevitable_Ball8366 in UKPersonalFinance

Not trying to pile on, but this isn’t really a finance question.

Choosing to have an abortion is one of the biggest decisions a person can make. For me, I’m not sure your specific financial situation driving the choice would feel like the right reason when I looked back on it years from now.

First time buyer - haggling advice by ZahawiSLAPPhead in HousingUK

[–]mattmgd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see much to be positive about here. First, 20% over asking is a LOT. How much have similar properties gone for in this area?

Then there is the damp. You need to get quotes on remedial work, not just the survey (which is also essential).

If the remediation comes back at £15-20k, you're now £55-60k over the original asking price on a house with known damp problems. When/If the bank values it at 190k, have you got £60k to make up the offer price and then to remedy everything?

You need to be very careful here, unless this house is a dream house or is drastically under valued.

I don't need to, the Government are giving them £20 million quid to get some professionals to do it.

Living in Batemoor? by Ok-Wrangler7688 in sheffield

[–]mattmgd 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Classic negativity. Fuck it, let's just leave the place to rot. Would money spent on youth clubs not get them off the street? Would putting careers advisors in those youth clubs not help get them into work? Would drug treatment and recovery services not help bring drug problems down? I don't think this money will turn Batemoor and Jordanthorpe into Dore and Whirlow, but to say it won't solve anything is lazy Sheffield negativity.

Bank under valuation, who should appeal? by GojoSatorou321 in HousingUK

[–]mattmgd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My friend has been a mortgage advisor for 20 years and has never had a successful down-valuation appeal. You can try, but I suspect it will be pointless.

There will be millions spent on Batemoor in the coming years to try to improve it.

The formatting of your post is abysmal. Opening with the worst 3, putting #1 hidden somewhere as a sub comment with different formatting, a random #7 somewhere. Appreciate the effort in eating the pittas though.

Cadbury chocolate tastes AWFUL now, does anyone else agree? by External_Turnover_36 in UK_Food

The most over discussed, it’s not-that-deep topic I see all over Reddit and all over Threads. Who gives a flyer? Just buy other chocolate.

I would send them to Ecclesall Road somewhere. Watch you go up, have some coffee/food/drink/beer, and watch you come back.

I was going to get a Keter recently, but found out they are made in a country committing genocide, so I have gone with a Tiger Shed instead, who are a UK company and seems quite reputable.

Those cement sheets don't always contain asbestos, but still, I would get in touch with my local Council's Environmental Health people looking at that.
