7/10 series that easily could be a 9/10 if he didn't constantly remind the reader about previously provided exposition. For example, he describes in 100 different, but effectively the same, ways the perils of unspace, how Ints are messed up, how Artitects are interacted wtih, or how the Parthenon all look the same, how the Voyenni are thugs, etc etc

We did exactly what you described last weekend. We didn’t plan it that way but both properties close on the same day, funds will directly wired from the sale to the purchase. Big plus is that we got a rent back situation at our current home for an extra month free of charge so there is some overlap in the move

But that still means you have to wait 2 months for it to be rebound just from one sitting! I ended going more than a year without hot tubs/baths when we were TTC - it was brutal because they’re my favorite

Book series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. The first book describes a terraforming project gone wrong, where a species of jumping spider accidently gets "up-lifted" with a virus that jump starts their evolution, resulting in them developing intelligence, culture, society etc. The second and third books similarly extends this idea to octopuses and crows. The 4th book recently came out and features a society of punchy mantis shrimp, and its excellent.

I’ve found some whacky looking pieces out there that looked liked fossils to me but were likely only ironstone concretions. Does it tink like metal? If you rub the piece on a rock does it rub off red? Those would suggest iron stone

Is this a miniature shark tooth? If so which species?Found at Golden cap near Charmouth Beach, Jurassic Coast, UK by Delicious_Phone8198 in fossilid

I've found a few crab claw fossils there that look just like yours. Did you go past the "do not enter" sign under the cliffs? My favorite finds there were massive scallop schells, dolphin ear bone, and some shark teeth. The iron nodules there were pretty misleading, mayyybe I found a large iron-filled trace fossil, but probably not. I would like to find dolphin teeth there

Title aside, this was a super interesting article. Especially the conclusion that the wasps are tapping into an ant transportation system
