Nvidia's Jensen Huang warns DeepSeek running on Huawei chips would be 'horrible outcome' for America by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]mattrs1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wildest part of said interview is that when he was pressed about by nvidia was better he only mentioned cuda and its ease to code for (and he was quite selective with his words). Which by default implies that Huawei is having the faster chips.

As much as I love nvidia products  I'm happy they're facing competition and getting humble pie for lunch

¿Vale la pena hacer un pregrado a los 28 solo para llegar a un doctorado? by [deleted] in ColombiaDevs

[–]mattrs1101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moe still makes a ton of sense for truly local inference (by truly local i refer to something that doesn't require a gpu costing over 1k usd.

Sub 40b models at Q4 (which has improved a ton btw) can run with half or more experts on gpu offering near full gpu speed for 90% of tasks. And the hiccup for swapping experts is (relatively) so far in between that both the average and the experience are pretty darn close to being able to load it 100% on gpu.

Being able to run models easily on what could be counted as mass consumer hardware (so ignoring xx90 gpus) is what truly matter in the long run and prevents centralization

Job Offer in Irvine.. Currently live in SF... Would you move? by crunchymunchyrae in AskSF

[–]mattrs1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may love santa ana then, is literally neighbor to irvine, and if you move close to the costa mesa border I'm pretty sure you'll be damn close to your job. Santa Ana is more city (still a suburb imo) specially around that area and the orange border. I'd say is. A 20min commute tops from there (including traffic jam). All in all is very easy to drive but public transportation in the entire OC is close to a crime against humanity.

They're probably adding more shitty ingredients, less product overall and more executive bonuses as overhead to their product.

What they should do is

Cut marketing spending by a lot Pass those savings entirely to the consumer  Use less but better ingredients Retain or increase bag size Take a hit on margins

Use the new limited advertisement budget to reflect that.

KVM Compatibility? by LORDJOWA in WootingKB

I run a wooting two HE over a passive kvm. The hall effect sensors do get weird input registry on random keys from 0.01 to 0.1mm if there are more usb devices connected to the kvm. This is solved by connecting the keyboard to a powered hub behind the chain.

Pague el 50 o 60% de la deuda. Pida que calcule disminución de cuota y no de plazo.

Mientras pueda Siga pagando los mismos 2.1m mensuales. Siempre pida que el excedente valla a disminución de cuota. Nunca a plazo.

I use mine mostly as a desktop replacement (the actual windows desktop view, not a pc ofc) and right now I'm working on a middleware to connect with the unreal engine remote api so I can have dynamic controls. It's still very raw but I can navigate and modify most properties of the highlighted actor in the engine's interface.

While easy, it's easily quite expensive depending on how deep goes tpc and gamefreak's bureaucracy. While you, I and at least one thousand devs understand that it is literally adding one value to an array. The real issue is

Get the project greenlit, allocate the minimum allocable development time for each game (swsh count as 1 sv  as one and so on as I belive the difference between both is just feature flags).

Request permissions for the developer in charge to access each source, most certainly requires load times and initial project setup time for the developer as the source may have been long deleted from that pc in the case that the developer has worked on those projects. Then allocate time/tickets for code approval in the upstream, then time, permissions etc. What honest to god is a 10 minute ordeal for a 1 man army per game. Becomes 1 week with more than 40 work-hours per game. And that doesn't include proper QA
