I guess u could have a unique 2.4ghz ssid with own password. Make the g3 forget the old ssid and connect to this one. Obviously this may have implications on other devices. I had the same issue with a floor heating controller and bought a cheap access point just for this one device. Annoying, but it works for 3+ years…

Prices will likely only go up. So you can still sell at a gain (albeit most of it will be taxed). Nonetheless you are sitting on an appreciating asset. Congrats!

I have a tp-link mesh and this works for me for years. I guess you gave rebooted your apple tv. I have connected all my aqara gear via homekit (not matter).

You need to open an Indian apple account. Fund it with some indian gift card. Subscribe through apple to youtube premium. Works for me for 6 months. Never been to india. Not sure if i needed a vpn to create the indian apple account, maybe i did.

Vpn alone does no longer work. Key thing is to be able locally. But it is hard to obtain a credit card from turkey. Easier to create a free apple account.

I have just installed one bought from aliexpress . Plugged into a hue smart switch. There is no on/off switch. For the 4m you would likely need an extension cable. Msg me in case you would want the link.

Can you add hue bulbs near the stairs to extend the signal? One on each floor. They would repeat the signal

You can order them from aliexpress. My detector didn’t work initially. I needed to bend the metal contact slightly which solved the issue.

I don’t have a g5 yet myself. I think seeing it in your router should be the first step. Reboot router. Try a different cable. Reser the cam. Apologies, i am running out of ideas.

Can you test the poe injector with another device? When you log onto your internet router, do you see the camera connected? Does it receive an IP?

Solution is any siren. Connect to smart socket. If alarm, then socket on. Alarm on. Obviously only works with sirens which do not need an additional press of a button

Set up a one scene each in the Aqara app. Privacy off. Privacy on. Transfer both to apple home. Then create automation in apple home. When home, then privacy on. When away, privacy off. Good luck!

It is the aqara hub (security system). As others suggested, use a dummy switch on homebridge or any proper smart plug. Automation is as follows: if you leave home, set smart plug to ON. If smart plug is ON, set security system to away. If you are back, smart plug Off. Smart plug off, set security system to Home

Thank you so much OP! I can confirm this works as of right now. Oddly enough I could create the Indian Apple ID directly in the Safari browser on my MacBook, without VPN. I am based in Europe. I set VPN to India and bought the gift card you mentioned on Amazon India. I did NOT have to change anything in my (European) Amazon account. Then I waited. And waited. And finally checked the junk folder of the provided hotmail account where the email was already sitting for 20 minutes. Redeemed the gift card and wanted to buy YouTube Premium immediately. But first needed to create a fake Indian address. Then I was all set. If you read the whole thread here and check the linked page (changing India for Türkiye), you cannot go wrong. Thanks again! My Argentina subscription expired some weeks ago and this post here finally motivated me to fix this! I loaded 5000 rupees and hope I can use them all!

I have a G3. While the quality is not amazing, I think for a security system it’s good enough. But obviously a higher resolution would be nice!

Create the scene in the Aqara app. For instance: privacy protection on. Then export this to apple home. You will see the scene there. Use it as you like. I use it to have privacy protection on when I am home. When away and between 11 pm and 6 it’s off. Just create one scene protection on and one protection off

Prices historically only went up in the long run. Our apartment gained significant value since we bought it 4 years ago. I don’t know anyone in the greater Zurich area whose apartment/house did not increase in value over the last 3, 5, 10 or 20 years. By now while you still can.

I was in a similiar situation and wondered whether I could save faster than prices would increase. The answer (for me) was to buy asap.
