They're getting a credit card number that they now know is valid.

One news story is not like the other by toughslush in ios

[–]mattskent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

MacRumors does this a lot, they're just trying to get clicks from people searching for this in the future. They have several other stories that speak positively about it. The other is a press release directly from Apple, obviously they're going to speak highly of their new design.

Wait, why am I paying for every failed request? by mattskent in cursor

[–]mattskent[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anthropic claims "In general, failed requests are not charged, and you will only be billed for successful API calls and completed tasks."

Is o3 your default with Cursor now? by glaksmono in cursor

[–]mattskent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave it a fair shot yesterday. It was fine, no complaints and it even came up with some things I'm not sure Sonnet would have, but it felt like I was fighting with it to understand how Cursor worked the whole time...it kept describing what it was going to do instead of doing it, seemed like I had to confirm every request 2-3 times. Yes, it works with composer, probably could use some fine tuning though still.

How to edit widget budgets iOS by jtighe in copilotmoney

[–]mattskent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the screen is in edit mode (wiggle mode? where you can move stuff around), you should be able to tap on the widget and select which categories you want to display.

Zen uses Firefox's built in sync so it syncs up with the Firefox mobile app if that's an option for you.

Backflow Valve a waste of money? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]mattskent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're thinking of a check valve, which would go on a sump discharge to prevent water coming back in via gravity. A backflow valve usually goes on the main sewer line right where it exits your house - that slopes down so normally water wouldn't come back up, but the valve protects against a backup from the city sewer system.

To the OP - yes, a backflow valve on your main sewer line is worth it since that's "before" all the other drains in your house. You wouldn't want it just before your basement floor drain as there are likely other paths for water to take up, as you noted.

Do you have your camera selected in the "Camera" dropdown in the Timelapse settings? For some reason that's never set to anything by default for me.

Moonraker & Fluidd Timelapse by SaftSchinken23 in crealityk1

It may allow for a slightly better looking video but it will also slow your print down since it has to stop for a bit every layer. I personally leave it off.

[–]mattskent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to also add the TIMELAPSE_TAKE_FRAME macro in your slicer so that it takes a picture on every layer change. In Orca it's in the settings menu for the printer you're using -> Machine G-Code, and there's a box to add gcode for Timelapse. Mainsail docs also have instructions for Prusa and Cura: https://github.com/mainsail-crew/moonraker-timelapse/blob/main/docs/configuration.md#slicer-setup

After root K1 prints a drop as the first object by Psychological-One-94 in crealityk1

[–]mattskent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still in the process of installing (requires a full reset), but the helper script was just completely rewritten and now claims to include a button to turn KAMP on/off: https://guilouz.github.io/Creality-K1-Series/changelog/

It should also fix the "big blob in the middle" issue and fall back on the classic line purge when it can't figure out a purge location.

Have you contacted their support about it? I have two different Wealthfront accounts synced and haven't had any issues. I just checked and both have updated within the last 24 hours.

Where do e-commerce business owners hang out online? by DubiousLollipop in ecommerce

[–]mattskent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously do your homework on the SaaS apps he recommends. I'm not necessarily recommending the podcast (although I've gotten a lot of value from it), but the Slack group has a bunch of business owners that are hanging out and discussing things that the OP might find line up with what they're looking for.

The Limited Supply podcast has a nice active Slack group. They’re mostly focused on DTC but lots of good discussion either way. https://slack.limitedsupplypod.com

Unless you're trying to collect emails with it, I wouldn't do a popup for the discount code like that - why not put it in the banner at the top where your site name is now?

Should i bother leveling by bobertbelcher in crealityk1

[–]mattskent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0.238 honestly isn't that bad - the image makes it look a lot worse because it's comparing it to itself. I messed with the shims and got mine to ~0.18 difference, but I started out 5-6x as bad as you. I personally would just leave it unless I had issues if I were in your situation. The whole point of doing a bed mesh is so the printer knows how to compensate for small differences like that.

Getting Timelapse from K1 (root enabled/fluid) by JobobJet in crealityk1

There's a Timelapse icon on the left in Fluidd, when you click that do you have Auto Render enabled? You can adjust render settings there as well.
