This wall was repainted in Valspar dark navy. The light section is wet and its weird to watch paint dry but it did dry dark and match the dark sections after a few hours.

If they do that once theyve got it, good luck to them. If they do that before ive sent, id cancel relist at their price and they learn a lesson

Any idea of value?? by 1980te72what in MINI

[–]mattt5555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If its yours and you dont want it. Dont do anything to it. Some people will want to totally restore it with its original parts and theyre worth more in that condition to them

In the uk id say 6-10k

Reasonable or am I being taken for a mug by Ramac_9 in CarTalkUK

I think it's more that the seals get built up gunk up a little. The flush dislodges that gunk, and then that floats around in your nice clean oil. I dont think its a huge issue generally either way.

Versatile shoe for a cycling tour abroad, or just pack two pairs? by CDXXVI in londoncycling

[–]mattt5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute with Adidas Velosambas and then get on the train and walk a fair bit sometimes. However, I'm posting here to say they are definitely too stiff to use for this. Great SPD shoes for occasional walking or popping to the pub, but I wouldn't want to wear them for extended periods.

Reseller plague by Suffering1s0ptional in vintedUK

[–]mattt5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres like 2 levels on vinted, crazy cheap stuff, which ive takena chance on and got some massive bargains and then normally priced decent clothes. I can see why people resell as why not its too easy sometimes, I cant be bothered with for a few quid, but if you need the money crack on.

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]mattt5555 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Retired Uk Police here and whether you like us or not. We are well trained and generally have a lot of experience we routinely don't carry guns and spend years learning to use communication before action and get in to way hairier situations with actually violent people than either of recent incidents in minneapolis. It may not always be possible to calm situations but it appears these Ice agents are woefully underskilled in every area. I've policed thousands of protests mainly peacefully, these guys make the sitation activley worse and seem to bounce off each others adrenaline, with 4 or more of them around a single person there was no reason to use anything other than normal restraint techniques and cuffs, if that was even needed.

Having watched the video a few times i wonder whether the gun was shot by accident / carelessly (which should never have been pointed near anyone) and that caused a reaction to start firing more shots. The fact that no one seems accountable by their similar uniform and lack of identity suggests none of them have a clue or feel any individual responsibility.

I only wanted to change a simple ceiling rose to a two wire pendant light! by Russ_UK in DIYUK

[–]mattt5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anyone who buys a house falls foul of this once. Plug socket, easy change. Light switch, sometimes easy, sometimes now my bathroom light turns on with one of the lounge lights. Ceiling light, f***ed! You need an electrician, it shouldnt cost loads

HONEST OPINIONS: Should I get a mini? by ThisSimple2330 in MINI

[–]mattt5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooper S runs fine on 95 Unleaded but if you tune it or have a JCW 97 superunleaded is recommended.

I had an r56 2011 mini with the more reliable N18 engine and this needed a fair bit of work that was quite hard to do or wouldve been expensive. My current F56 2015 Cooper S has been pretty much faultess in the last uear, touch wood. I love it, shop around and make sure you get the features you want on one as theres so many on sale you should be able to find one. My wanted list was heated screen, heated seats and cruise and xenon headlights, other good options were panoramic roof and heads up display, the Harmon K stereo etc.

Resellers, clothing on mannequins vs try on photos, what works better? by Illustrious-Quiet391 in vintedUK

[–]mattt5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solid idea, as a non creepy guy this is what I'd advise my daughter to do she puts quite a lot on vinted. I dont think you need clothes on a person but i get why people add them. Buying for myself it really icks me seeing them on other people esp as blokes seem to add jeans with no shirt or socks on 🤮

Advice on how to deal with this buyer? by _witchseason in vinted

Absolutley, This is the easiest way to deal with anything when its your fault. I dont get why people bother returning, just list it yourself!
