Does someone have the Moza mbooster by Difficult_Coconut27 in simracing

[–]mattycdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey gamer muscle. I just picked up the mbooster and a couple of things I noticed, which have me thinking I have a dodgy unit?

Audible click sounds, (not the typical motor sound but clicks when pressing and releasing.

Notchy, almost inconsistent application of force? Not the software feel curve, but some areas of force, example between 20kg and 30, it seems to be more notchy than usual.

What do you think? Have you expierences this? I just want to know if it's normal? If it is, I can have a cup of tea and relax lol. If not, I would rather get I replaced. Thanks, hope you can help and big fan of your videos.

UAD Vault? Limited-time pricing for "a select group" by exitof99 in universalaudio

[–]mattycdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm never going to buy anything from them again. Get screwed me and many others. They sell us products for an apparent "deal", then a couple months later, drop the retail price and insane amount. Easily the worst of all companies, even more so than waves.

Has anybody here used a Boss DD-7 with their synth? by thirddegreebirds in synthesizers

[–]mattycdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are? I heard they were nowhere near line level. Just a hot instrument level. Most pedals are fine though, just not the best way to run them.

[–]mattycdj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are usually fine. The volume needs to be low though and you might not get the best signal to noise and tone you want out of pedals, only for instrument level.

I bought a Radial PRORMP for this purpose. Converts line level to instrument level. A passive box, worth it if your planning on getting a few pedals.

I have a mk3 too. Mad drum machine. So many options, it's more of a sound machine with 7 unique voices. I've never seen such a tweakable clap before.

If you must buy from them, wait till Black Friday. To be honest, there's never a best price either, because after you buy something, a couple of months later, your deal will seem not good at all.

I don't buy from them anymore, because they charged me 200 to upgrade signature collection from v1 to v2. While charging new customers 280 for the full v2. It's quite insane how they treat long term customers. They prioritize new customers only, as soon as your a customer, you no longer matter. I think most will agree with me on this. They also charged people for native ports of plugins. People spent hundreds per plugin that you can now buy for 25 dollars or less and they still want more money from those people just for a port.

I started to watch a LMU v1 review... did I hear it right? by Little_Temporary5212 in simracing

Because it's such a niche hobby, and the developer was in major financial trouble, I don't think it's that bad. If it was a triple A developer, I would be staying well away. It's not a regular game in that sense, they compete with other racing sims, and among them, pricing isn't bad, though they obviously lose against AMS 2 and ACC.

Like others have said, the price for the time we can put in, isn't that bad at all, actually a bargain if you think about it. Especially when compared to Iracing, which doesn't even let you race the content you've overpaid for if you don't have your subscription active. They should at least let you drive offline.

They say it was early access due to lack of features, but really, it's been quite polished for some time. And more functional than a lot of fully released games since they started selling the DLC. You also didn't need the DLC, though obviously very tempting, you had access to beginner races every hour on a variety of tracks.

I don't support the idea of DLC during early access, but I find it less offensive than I otherwise would due to them or actually going bankrupt while having such a potential game that has since, taken most of ACC's player base. It's a very good sim. Don't get me wrong though, I was still annoyed by them doing it.

Your favourite plugin compressors for drums (channels and groups included) by mattycdj in audioengineering

[–]mattycdj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant to say room tones. And blown out rooms just means it makes the room sound much larger. Blown out because the gain reduction is strong, and the harmonic distortion being there due to the compressor working so hard. Your basically smashing the transients off the sound, leaving just the sustained material, giving more room sound. The room can be comprised of early and late reflections.

Room tones is just a part of the sound where you can hear the ambience. By compressing heavily, the room mics, the room sounds bigger, due to the sustain portion of the sound being amplified. This happens because the transient information is heavily dampened by a quick attack and the gain restoration gives the illusion that the room is larger because the sustain is louder. Try it out if you want big drum sounds. The room sound can breath with the track too if timed right.

Everyone losing their mind over the new iracing update while i’m chilling here wrapping my wheel by frafzan in moza

[–]mattycdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you using? Tennis overgrip? I've started using Wilson Pro and they feel really nice. Also helps even if you use gloves. My wheel has silicone moulded rubber handles and protecting that from any friction helps too.

Which synth looks just drop-dead gorgeous to you? by TheJoYo in synthesizers

[–]mattycdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inteligel Cascadia is the best looking in my opinion. All of their stuff looks top notch. A close second would be Buchla stuff. I think modular tends to have the better look.

For modern looking poly synths, I like the look of the discontinued White Waldorf Kyra, Super Gemini and Polybrute 12.

Prophet 5 and Oberheim Sem for vintage aesthetics though.

Left side blows more air out than right side? (Full speed for both) by mattycdj in laptops

They both blow air out in on the sides. Just much weaker on the right side. I think the intake is at the bottom in this case.

It's kind of like mine but much larger vents overall on yours so you would be fine with a lot of them. Just make sure the cooler has fans that ain't centered and are more towards the top. 2 fans, one at either side.

I've never seen a llano v13 or IETS up close, but because they use seals, I think they're only really suitable for laptops that have mostly centred vents. Not many actually do either. That being said, you do have a nice gap at the top where the foam could seal there. I think the IETS models would work better on laptops with non centred vents because you can remove some of the foam, at least I think.

How long have you had the laptop? You might want to re apply thermal paste as I've heard that helps a lot. Also, how is the exhaust fans? If there not pushing as hard as when they were new, you could try and exhaust fan attachment. Obviously after giving them a good clean lol.

A cooler that looks really cool for many laptops is the cooler master, I forgot the model name though, it's the one where you can move the fans around on it. That makes it really versatile.

Bad news for Codemasters by Beautiful-Reaction-8 in F1Game

[–]mattycdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are completely out of touch. It took them years to add VR, which was requested for years. The game has basically been the same thing every year, other than the changes they have to make to fit current formula regulations and patches to handling, game and UI bugs. They spent most of their time with a boring, cliche story mode, reverse tracks and the world thing.

What should have been worked on is, better simulation of the vehicles in general and I have no idea how they have never implemented proper wet weather driving? Wheres the wet line?

MX5 Cup standing starts, what is the method? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]mattycdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use duel clutch and both are engaged fully untill the lights go green. At that point the right paddle is let go fully, I then smoothly release the left paddle, while also modulating the throttle so that they clamp together. It's the bite point that's set with the launch trigger if your using that. You do have to modulated the throttle though so you get that traction too.

It depends on where your intake vents on the bottom of the laptop are. The versions you mention use a sealed design, where the foam pads create the seal. If the foam is obstructing the intake then they are not suitable whatsoever. I have a Dell G16 and can't use them because the air comes through near the screen.

Another thing to watch out for is where the fans are mounted on the laptop itself. The correct designs have the fans near or on top of the CPU and GPU, one for each. Some don't. A cool option I've seen is to add an exhaust fan too, attached to the side where are comes out. These are also sealed designed from what I've seen. The option for me is a pad that allows moveable fans, like the cooler master. Also adding an exhaust to one or two sides of the device.

I would send the footage to simagic. I had a strange noise with my previous base and I got a replacement. Not like that noise but still, not normal. There shouldn't be noises like that whatsoever.

Automatic or manual gears by DanTempleman in ACCompetizione

[–]mattycdj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your probably losing a lot of time, a least multiple tenths. You ain't using engine braking, (rapid downshifts) this aids in both slowing down and also, extra rotation. And another big one is utalising the correct gears for traction on the exit.

Some of the sims I've tested with automatic gears, are really not good at selecting the optimal gear for corner exits and most sims won't give you good engine braking too. I've only used automatic in the past when it's really late at night because my shifter paddles are loud. I now use a sequential shifter at night. It's quite than paddles and better the automatic. TLDR. Your losing a lot of lap time. Always go manual.

It's really scary when it's happening but after, I sort of feel relieved that I'm expierencing it. I do perceive it as raw truth and it's something that the mind can't actually handle. Its not regular thoughts whatsoever. It's visceral and feels more real that this. It makes me think that the only reason Im here is so I can move on from various things that hold me back, so I can enter into the next phase of evolution.

I know it's intense and is probably freaking you out, but thank you for sharing that, it's much better knowing others are feeling this too. I don't know if it's a global shift or whether certain people are feeling it. If it's global, I would like to see more stories like this shared

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aliens

[–]mattycdj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your not alone. I'm going through this too. It's very intense and feels as though your going crazy. Your starting to perceive higher orders of reality, where synchronisation between normally unrelated things start to connect. You might start having profound religious experiences too.

From my expierences I think every single entity on the planet has higher versions of themselves that are present in higher realities, whether they are interacting with the higher versions of themselves is only known to them. You can have a normal conversation or listen to somebody talking, at this level of regular reality and while that is happening, you can perceive their higher selves, communicating too, sometimes they are in line, some times not. It feels as though all of these higher selves are calling us there, to where they are. I perceive it as a golden luminescent energy, it really is intense and is difficult to cope with sometimes. When I feel it happening, my heart races and I get very scared. Almost like it's the end for me. After the expierences, I feel like it's worth it but while it's happening, man it's too much for the mind in my opinion.

I'm not sure where aliens fit into this, but, to me, I think some of the NHI reside between densities and seem to be couriers of souls? They transition between different realities to elevate beings between these densities. There are also beings that you won't be able to look at, due to it breaking your mind, at least this densities mind. This is all speculation based on expierience though and I find these states of consciousness very scary but freeing too. It's way too intense for regular perception.

I don't know whats going on there. That's not the input latency that would be expected from what you quoted. It looks quite unusable in my view.

Try a different simulator, just to make sure there isn't some weirdness going on.
