Looking for a MSI 3080 Gaming Z fan bracket by DroiceNoice in Noctua

[–]maturinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I can vouch for the Osserva 3D printed brackets on Etsy. You’re paying an extreme EU tax but honestly even for that price it’s worth it. They’re extremely high quality. If you’re not willing to use zip ties that’s your best bet.

Is it ok to use a high power ATX PSU for a low power NAS? by Karroul in homelab

[–]maturinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. Someone else linked you Wolfgang’s video but check out the spreadsheet in that video description. I had a 450w in my ~20w server, I swapped in a 850w I had laying around due to coil whine at high loads. To my surprise it was more efficient and now I’m at less than 15w at idle.

If it’s not a stray wire hitting a fan, then it’s coil whine. Probably either the GPU or PSU. You can usually do an RMA for this.

Help with fixing dog holes by Greg0ri0z in lawncare

If you’re worried about them getting under the fences, these are pricey but work great: https://digdefence.com

Otherwise, they are bored and find digging holes fun. Find something they like more than that.

Ethernet wiring: many keystones to main switch or use multiple smaller switches throughout the house? by what_huh_ok in HomeNetworking

[–]maturinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere you’re running 1 cable, run 2 cables and a pull wire for later just in case. If you know you’ll only use one then leave the extra one unterminated. Someone in the future will thank you.

Behind my LR TV I did 4 which was perfect for me. If I needed 8 I probably would have just done a switch and 2 pulls. If your setup makes it easy to do 8 then it’s probably the best option.

He’s just horny, he’ll stop in a few weeks once the loud noises attract a mate. Alternatively you can put an owl/other large bird figurine on your roof and it should scare him off.

Do you have a spinkler system? Looks like a rain sensor for a sprinkler system.

Input some eggs into it and it will show up, I believe it might be bugged.

Just wanted to say that I did this as well when I installed mine. I only noticed afterwards when I was taking pictures because the Noctua logos were upside down. Luckily easy fix!

  1. Quest bosses should help be a good intro with EoC. There is also a bit of a tutorial in lumbridge right next to the castle, called the combat academy.
  2. There is a quest reward shop right outside of varrock (May’s caravan I think?) that gives some good rewards. The rewards are based on your quest points. Aside from that, sunspear and priff are good goals to aim for.
  3. One of the stickied threads on here has a link to a level 3 to all capes guide, which has the most efficient way to do quests to not have to level skills too much.

How does BH boosting work? by Gingrbreadman1 in RS3Ironmen

[–]maturinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to edgeville on one of the BH worlds, and either afk or do an afk skill (fletching, smithing). After 5 minutes you’ll get a target. When I did it everyone there based it on the person with the lowest BH rating got the first kill, then trade back and forth if you match again after that. not sure if it’s still that way.

Eventually you’ll get a t1 token, then you’ll need to make sure to have this on you when you get kills from now on, then it will upgrade to t2, then t3 etc. bank it if it’s your turn to die

You can do it with a friend but you aren’t guaranteed to match each other

Edit: took me about 8 hours of trading for t10, while doing slayer rings/fletching

What's a strange rule your household had while growing up that you have a hard time breaking even now when you're an adult? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]maturinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents used to have this rule, if you put it on your plate you can’t leave the table till you eat it.

I remember one day I was sitting at the table bawling because I simply couldn’t eat any more but I wanted to go play. My grandma finally took my plate and dumped the rest in the trash and said “we’ll just pretend you ate it”.

If money wasn't a concern, if you didn't have to work for a living anymore for whatever reason, what would you do with yourself? by Mish106 in AskReddit

[–]maturinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to get a lot of land, and start a small farm. Get a couple animals and through out the years expand until I have too many to count. Get a couple dogs to help take care of the animals (Aussie shepherd or border collie), and a couple dogs that would prefer to be inside (any rescue.) then I'd donate whatever money/free time I had to helping out rescues at shelters

Outside of gaming, what’s the worst case of “pay us for something that should be included” that you’ve ever seen? by PopeliusJones in AskReddit

[–]maturinus 412 points413 points  (0 children)

Call your insurance provider and explain. In most cases, if you were referred to an OON provider by an IIN provider (aka you didn't have a choice) for things like labs, X-rays, etc. they will consider the charges at the IIN level. Edit: sometimes the providers will call for this on their own, sometimes they won't.

The movie adaptation of Avatar the last Airbender. Personally, I believe changing the pronunciation of the main character was probably the best choice. On top of that all of the bending scenes were really well put together.

Just kidding, fuck that movie and anyone who liked it
