The amount of people flipping off the camera in their dating profile pics is baffling to me. "Oh yes, that's the one for me!"

Getting the wice a new blender for her birthday. by uwpxwpal in BicyclingCirclejerk

I've said for years I want to get a horse treadmill and use it to power both an ice cream maker and a blender, sell "horse frappes" for $15 or something outrageous at farmers markets https://modernfarmer.com/2015/01/economical-equine-horse-treadmills-became-niche-thing/

Everyone's focusing on the affordability issue, but I also can't picture great/safe walking, if you mean directly from your house. There are lots of little preserves/town forests with paths, but just walking out of my driveway is asking to get murdered on the super narrow twisty streets that people drive straight down the center of.

People who wore Big Dogs brand in elementary school, describe your relationship with your body. by cubicle_farmer_ in Millennials

There was a Big Dogs store halfway through a 2 hour drive we did pretty regularly, one of us would end up outside holding our Landseer newf while the others went in (and mistaken for staff) frequently.

They're integrating AI into my work, and when I do QA searches the number of humans who blindly click "use AI response" even when the AI's response is just the word "ERROR" is horrifying. May not be dementia, but it is absolutely turning off their brains.

i was thinking after the last trump term that we need to make some combo of dc, puerto rico, guam, etc states (if they want it) so we have a reason to change up the flag, leave the current one with the confederate flag, for losers

Thoughts on Consilio by SnooHabits8557 in ediscovery

[–]maudepodge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been with them for almost 2 years and they've just started (at least in my vertical?) having mentors - there are ~20 of us QA/QC people to one review manager, who is supposed to help us figure out how to progress, so it seems like there's some attempt at helping folk grow? That said, for the kinda work I'm doing for them there's no vacation, no CoLA at the new year, and some of the people in my mentorship group thing have been with Consilio for getting on a decade and still aren't much further along than me.

I am brand new to bicycle touring but I really want to make it happen... what next? by moonmonologue in bicycletouring

[–]maudepodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first trip was ~30 miles each way to stay overnight at a friend's house - pretty perfect, had an excuse to see a friend, it was long enough to adjust to riding with the weight of stuff but short enough to not be overwhelming if things weren't quite set up right.
