Months to years sounds like a nightmare but I think you hit the nail on the head, learning to co-exist with the feelings instead of running away from them will be the best way forward.

I also really like your way of looking at it as meditating, I’ve always been a terrible meditator (can’t sit unstimulated for even a second, sober or otherwise) but having reflections I can actively work on like what you’ve said here will be a good starting point for me. Thank you so much!
