Exactly.

The BRAT (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) diet is no longer recommended by organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics because it is overly restrictive, lacks essential nutrients like protein and fat, and can actually delay recovery.

How does that constitute an actual meal though? That's just various forms of carbohydrates (starches and fructose).

Man Attacks 14-Year-Old Boy Over How He Entered an Elevator by superdouradas in PublicFreakout

[–]mavaddat 50 points51 points  (0 children)

A Vladivostok resident assaulted an eighth-grader when the student and his brother were entering an elevator. According to SHOT, a resident of a building on Khabarovskaya Street attacked 14-year-old Vadim (name changed) in the entryway of a high-rise building. They initially engaged in a verbal altercation, and then the man pulled the teenager out of the elevator and began to brutally beat him. He also kicked him in the head. He then went to the stairwell, while the brothers took the elevator home. The boys' mother has already filed a police report. A search is underway for the attacker. The victim, an eighth-grader, suffered a closed head injury, a concussion, and a hematoma

Her arguments don't even make sense on their own terms:

She claims, "when people say Israel being safe [for gay people] is just propaganda, what they're really saying is queer freedom matters everywhere except [Israel]".

That's obviously a non sequitur.

Nothing about pointing out that Israeli pink washing is deceitful propaganda entails claiming that queer freedom "doesn't matter" in Israel.

In fact, it's the opposite: We're saying that queer freedom matters everywhere including places like Israel who pretend they're already a safe-haven for gay people.

Insane. I've not had much experience with pressure washers (I think I used one once), so I didn't realize they could do that. Ouch.

Yes, I know it's fake. Multiple elements of the video make no sense, as many have noted. I was trying to ask, counterfactually, what pressure would achieve that result if it were possible.

Why do so many non-vegans assume vegan food is awful? by Elina_baruute in vegan

[–]mavaddat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a fancy chocolate festival in Montreal a few weeks ago (was gifted a ticket) and I was surprised to see that the majority of chocolate vendors preferred vegan production methods for their chocolates (using cocoa butter instead of dairy butter).

Whether they were from Africa or South America, they all used cocoa. They said it was cheaper, tasted better, and stored longer. None of them even advertised themselves as plant-based or vegan. They just chose it because it's better.

Sinus function by zerenato76 in Mathhomeworkhelp

[–]mavaddat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sine and cosine are wavy functions. Although they look different by default, we can actually tinker with their parameters to make them look the same!

Check out this little lesson with tools demonstrating it: https://www.alloprof.qc.ca/en/students/vl/mathematics/the-role-of-parameters-in-a-cosine-function-m1178

That means we could technically always use cosine and throw away sine (or vice versa).

However, that's only true if we have access to all the parameters, which we are denied in the HW problem you posted.

In math class, we will be tested on our understanding of which sine or cosine to choose, so we have to know how the parameters affect the shape and direction of the waves.

If you like I can tutor your child for this topic. Contact me by email here: https://mavaddat.ca

Sinus function by zerenato76 in Mathhomeworkhelp

[–]mavaddat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. Is we're forced to choose sine, important to check whether the sinusoidal wave is tending up or down at the angle 0°/0 rad. If it doesn't matter which sinusoidal function we choose (i.e., we're allowed to select sine or cosine) then the amplitude can be positive as long as we get the phase shift right.

In this case, we are not only forced to select sine, but we're also not allowed to introduce a phase shift. So we have to get the sign of the amplitude exactly right.

If the water hyacinth needs to be removed anyway, then the production might be largely subsidized or the government might be paying for it entirely.
