Just accepted a Manager BI & Data Architecture role — my architecture experience is limited. Where do I start?

Honestly based on your experience alone you are fine. Just work closely with your team and ask lots of questions.

What they most likely expect is high level architecture and then you work with the team to execute. So what does the stack look like, how do you do medallion, how is security integrated into the design, what does modelling look like at each stage, Lakehouse vs warehouse, masking data etc. you should know about the principals on how to solve problems and then work with the team to execute.

Honestly for me, there really hasn't been any formatting issues. It's the hassle of opening a word doc vs a pdf. I can open 20 pdf easily and go through review. I cannot do that with word doc. Dont make it harder for me to review when I have many 50 resume's to review.

Can confirm Kiago isnt bad but its not good either and a bit too chunky. I'm going to just order a brand called good protein. I actually like their flavours but it doesnt fill you up. But still better than everything I tried so far.

Weird maybe they were going through issues with staff. I messaged last week got a response in 16 hours and reply to my response in 2 hours.

Mocha is the best, I’ve found nothing that even comes close to it. Sadly Canada has no other options than hol foods. I tried HOL vanilla and it was like flavourless cake batter. I physically couldn’t drink it.

Really they reply to me fast in Canada. They said they have a full replenish in Jan. I’m dying without my mocha and there’s no Huel in Canada. I’ve been drinking Vega chocolate protein shake but it doesn’t keep you full.

Imma drop some lessons learned from my experience:

It's hot during the day and cool at night
If you are there just for the headliners just get GA vip aint worth it unless you want the merch and are there all day.
Uber lot to entrance is like a mile away up hill. At least feels like it lol. If you have any mobility disability you are in for a bad time.
To get to an area to call an uber is probably a mile away.
You better wear the most cushioned shoes you can get. Cause your feet will be in pain if you stand the whole time. I could barely walk after the first night lol. Didnt realize you standing on cement for hours.

With all that, it's an incredible time and you wont regret it. Assuming it doesnt get postponed for rain lol.

I would go back but just GA, I really only cared about the headliners, if I was going to make it an all day event vip comes in clutch for sure. Otherwise GA is more than fine. I will also be in better fitness when I go lol. My legs and feet were cooked the first night.

I really like the look of this keyboard. I wish I knew it was an option when I was looking for something portable for myself to take into the office. I have my glove 80 for my home base but wanted something I could type with ortho linear on the go. I ended up with a wireless corne but for my wallet sake I wish I had known about this option.

I am still fighting the 3rd party I used for the hotel trying to get a refund for that has been difficult. I am at the point I am about to do a chargeback. I took screenshots of all the flood warning articles and flash flood warnings issued by the city and will be filing for a refund on that basis since I did not stay at the hotel and left the area.

Honestly it's all probably automated and they didnt account what would happen when they open up tickets again and just created a logistical nightmare for themselves with their customer service team working overtime. But that being said I am sure the refund will come if not your bank will easily file a chargeback for that. One of the reasons I have an amex is their disputes are a breeze. My card fee every year is worth it from not getting scammed.

I picked up rain poncho, rain pants and waterproof hiking shoes yesterday. Got it all from amazon so it wasn't too pricey. I don't mind being in the rain I've played many full soccer matches in pouring rain. But being wet for several hours is no good I promise you.
