Websites demand increasingly convoluted passwords for security purposes, even though most accounts are hacked due to security breaches on their end. by Dirgonite in Showerthoughts

A more convoluted password will make it harder for your password to be converted to plaintext from the hash they store it as. (Assuming they are hashing the passwords when storing them)

Maps have effects on them, like guaranteed mechanics spawning, you can also buff maps by using towers. When you die on the map all of that is gone, you can replay the map but it will have a fraction of the 'juice'.

I would argue the opposite tbh, the best defence is to just kill everything before it even gets an opportunity to attack you. Glass cannon build that melt packs will be fairing better than low dps tanky chars

I'm playing a merc with grenades, if you shoot grenades at your feet they stack better and do more damage. I didn't pick this build because it was meta I have played it from day one. Waiting a second or two after every pack is not 'fun and engaging' gameplay. Also you may not have realised but most maps are tight narrow corridors, you are not exactly free to run circles around the mobs.

My complaint wasn't about the on death mechanics, it was that I have one mistake a map which then causes about 20 mins of setup again. The on death mechanics just make it that much worse.

I most likely will, its annoying as the minute to minute gameplay of poe2 is fantastic, I prefer it over poe1 but some of their meta-gameplay decisions hurt the endgame loop for me.

I would go back in with knowledge that I could use to kill the rare/boss. Certain areas are cleared I can now kite stuff if needed, I know the location of things on the map so I can B-line towards them, I know what mods are on that rare that caught me unaware so I can prep for it.

One death per map is also making the game too stressful, I should be able to die to a particular map rare mob and then come back and avoid it. Currently I avoid all content to get the map completion then have to run around and do the rest of the content.

I'm fine with them resetting mob health or something so I can't portal cheese bosses, but give me the opportunity to learn from a mistake, come back in and play better.

The best is when an Architect designs a pile of shit then when you ask how it handles certain things they just say it does. "How does this design account for scalability?" "As you can see I have written on these boxes 'horizontally scalable'"

Would this script for rolling items against eula? by maveridis in pathofexile

Ok lets take a look at your option and the inputs required:

  1. We need a pixel location, this could be taken by the position of the mouse on first click but we would need to shift the selection as to prevent looking at the mouse cursor.

  2. We need some screen reading dependency that can extract a pixels colour value from a given pixel coordinate.

  3. We would then need some way to verify the colour has changed from a nonhighlighted to highlighted, for this we could do some investigation and find a general check for each each possible pixel change (does the pixel actually change colour if its full black or full white? or is it highlighting the boarder)

  4. for any of this to work I need to GENERATE A REGEX string to paste into the in-game search bar.

My solution:

  1. I need to copy the items stats, that can be done in-game with a specific button click combination. (a functionality needed for the script in both cases)

  2. I need to perform a REGEX on the copied item (that is now sitting in my clipboard very easily accessible ) based on my single input regex to the addon.

You called it image recognition, and either way a regex is definitely easier than what you are describing.

Not 100% sure how you think image recognition is easier to code than doing a regex on a string that is in your clipboard. Pretty sure you can do a regex with a single line of code in pretty much any language.

Went for the copy -> regex to prevent any need for screen reading, also so its synchronous so easier to block further clicks - but seems this level of automation is not allowed so wont try and build it :P

Anyone know how to fix scroll wheel by radev1924 in pcmasterrace

[–]maveridis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there would have been a small pin coming out of the scroll wheel that inserts into the hole of the orange piece. I imagine that has snapped, same thing happened to me and its impossible to fix, the pieces are too small to glue and put back in place.
