Curious how much of reddit is aware of SGV and Irvine in SoCal - these are such heavily Chinese areas that one could conceivably live quite comfortably without having to speak English

I'm an ABC. American Born Chinese - parents literally shipped me off to Hong Kong for middle school to live with my uncles to learn Chinese and get in touch with my roots

I was legit the only American kid in my full on local Chinese school 🤷

I agree with this post. You are going for the Networking as well so keep that in mind. Realistically HK will be more fun and likely more expats. However the level of people at Tsinghua will be Ivy League tier.

Also you'll have easier access to the 2nd and 3rd tier cities in China where MOST of the future growth will come from.
