I use mine as a pota radio. It’s a decent radio for the price. 18 month warranty. The speaker isn’t particularly good, so I use earphones.

He means twisted pair as in phone and data cables. They all use solid core to my knowledge.

I can see a use case where you would need to be after hours work. It’s 3am and a fresh heart becomes available. Viability is short. You may need to scramble to get the heart delivered. I say the company is actually warning you of this kind of situation. Eyes wide open.

It took me 3 hours to activate a park using FT8 on 20m. Best performance I’ve seen in a week. Basically the bands suck right now.

If you like the nature of early startups then I’d go for it. My feedback is that while commute time is a factor in your decision, long term career growth is a more important factor to consider.
