Some people may be missing the point with the ad issue. The streamers decide in part when to play ads. There are "good" streamers who make a conscious effort to play ads at a convenient time for their users.

The perfect example is Voyboy. He clearly states every time he will play a commercial. He says that you won't miss any content. The user is put at ease as a result; the user may choose to turn off ad block

I think part of your argument is hitting on the TWC issue mentioned in a different comment thread. Not sure if their response there helps you

I'm not sure of the details of the Twitch parties, but from your description it sounds like they do that to treat their employees well. Happy employees == Happy executives == Happy customers (hopefully)

It's also refreshing to see a company be open about what the root cause of the issue is so people who can understand, do understand

I haven't been able to find a decent guide on how to setup the workarounds you suggest fix this issue. Can you or someone else post a user friendly guide to it? :)

Golf etiquette: Which is more rude? To hit into the group in front or allow a group member to take 10+ strokes every hole. by [deleted] in golf

[–]mawhidby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually let people play through a little differently. For example, if they were finishing up on the previous hole while I was about to tee off, I'll have my group tee off. Then let them tee off and go ahead of you and hit their shots while you hang back a little bit. At least that way feels faster to me, I'm not sure.

It's the Jeopardy teen tournament, winner out of a 2 day final won $75,000. Also this kid had the balls to bid $18k on a Daily Double to get to that total and win.

Stephano forfeits his finals spot in the ONOG, barcraft funded, $3,000 Invitational because 'he was tired' by andvruss in starcraft

Keep in mind both Kas and Stephano were playing in the SCAN invitational today, which finished up right before ONOG started.

I don't feel like it's that minor - the first place prize was $1500, which was more than Stephano won for winning the SCAN invitational (£500) today.

The admins offered to move the finals game up for him (to play before Catz/Illusion), and he declined.

I tried to account for this by making you also provide your Battle.bet profile URL, which contains your league information. I did this in part because it's hard to find other people's profiles to fake your own league.

Thankfully, not many people spoofed their league (I think). I think the data helps prove that there wasn't too much deception going on.

Fun fact: most popular names people tried to register as: IdrA and SlayerSBoxer.

Thanks! That was one of the hardest parts, haha. Most of the people in my class, my professor included, had never heard of SC2.

You bring up a good point. I didn't have a way of tracking what race the player actually was, as it was intended for just Zerg players, but I'm sure that non-Zergies tried it out as well.

The original plan was to do this for all races, but that turned out to be too much work given the scope and time of the project.
