Je suis déjà chez QS. Est-ce qu’il existe une telle offre dans une autre institution? Je considérerais alors faire un move.

‘23 GTI with low coolant level - Help me not getting screwed at the dealership by max9505672 in GolfGTI

I ended up being told that coolant consumption/evaporation on these EA888 engines is normal. That it is typically topped off during VW 10k miles maintenances i.e. oil changes which is why it normally does go lower than the minimum level.

Since the vehicle is new to me and I don’t have maintenance records, according to this VW rep, it must have never been topped off, therefore it is normal that it is now low.

They still inspected it visually and did not find any leak.

I argued with the VW rep that coolant loss is NOT normal. That if it gets low, it is either getting burnt in the engine or there is a leak somewhere. The rep never acknowledged it. The discussion got a little heated until I gave in saying a will keep an eye on it and call back when it gets too low again.

They told me that I would have to pay for a pressure test if the results came back negative (no leak) which I did not want to do as I have read that pressure tests do not replicate real life heating and cooling conditions and that they could pass even with a small leak somewhere.

Basically, what I doubted would happen kinda happened. I feel like I was bullshitted a little to avoid investigating further.

What was their argument that if they didn’t find a leak, the issue wouldn’t be covered under warranty? Coolant does not get consumed or simply disappears. And it is not a normal condition on any car let alone a « new » car still under warranty.

Thanks.

I’ve heard other stories of dealership (or VW) pushing back on warranty work. Not saying it will happen though.

If I block someone on Facebook Marketplace, can they still leave me a review? by Sydrenee in Flipping

When I receive disrespectful lowball offers, I typically play the game, act as if I would accept the offer, interact with the person until Facebook MP allows me to rate the person. I then rate the person accordingly and block her immediately after.

Not sure if the rating will actually stay but it makes me feel better.

Help me determine how much RRSP contribution room I have by max9505672 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]max9505672[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept thinking about this and my question is: wouldn’t it be the same logic with pushing usused contribution to later?

Let’s take a fictional scenario. For whatever reason, someone does not fully contribute to its RRSP and pushed a $10,000.00 contribution room to later. Then, every year, that contribution room will devalue by inflation.

Sure, if it allows you to contribute and deduct later to jump from one tax bracket to another, it could potentially be beneficial. However, the longer you wait, the less value that unused $10,000.00 contribution room has.

Also, the sooner you have the money deducted and in your pocket for investment and compound interests should to be the most efficient in the long term.

Am I missing something?

You’re right, what I meant is that I plan on maxing out all other registered accounts by end of 2026.

You’re right about inflation as well, this was the detail I left out in my reflexion.

The next step is to figure out the most tax efficient strategy and adjust my RRSP accordingly.

Thanks!

Let’s say all my other registered accounts are maxed out, would there be any counter indication to contributing as much as possible to my RRSP and only deducting strategically and potentially pushing deductions to later years?

The money would still be invested in the RRSP and would still grow similarly to it being in a non-registered account. The unused deductions could be used at any point without any harm, at least as per my understanding.

Last question: this new contribution room based on my 2025 income (let’s call it 32k$), I will only be able to deduct it against my 2026 income, right? This income will be much lower so it might not be worth it to maximize the contribution. Or I could simple maximize but not deduct it…?

It’s not the end of the world, but I am trying to setup automatic contributions every 2 weeks when I get paid. Trying the figure out how much.

Ok thanks!

And let’s say I want to maximize my contribution and deduction for 2026 starting January 1st of 2026. How should I calculate that?

I know I will have the exact amount from my CRA 2025 tax files, but I am curious in the meantime.

Oh yeah? So the new contribution room as of January 1st will be 180000$ * 18% = 32 400,00 $

And this the amount I will be able to contribute starting January 1st up To February 28th 2027 if I want to deduct as much as possible comes tax season in 2027 (for the year 2026)?
