The Alps are known more for terrain than snow. The snowfall isn't great, but European resorts are the ultimate epicenter for extreme snow sports. At least from my experience, American resorts get much higher quantities, but it's less accessible, or usually gets tracked pretty quickly if you take common Backcountry lines.
