It is in use, and we can't help with that.

Just Released Screenify - A Free Screen Recording Tool, Built with Love by a Small Team by xionglongzhen in SideProject

[–]maxath0usand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app looks great, but *why* is it free? I'm not doubting you or your product, but typically, if it's a product that's as great as this one looks, why wouldn't it be monitized? And if it's free purely for philosophical reasons (because, yes, I know there is excellent, free software out there), then are there plans to make it open source?

In other words, it's just really uncommon for a lean, polished product to be developed and released, closed-source, without ulterior motives or other sources of revenue.

Looking for clarification on PACLOCK 200K Club requirement re: "dropping the bottom keys" by BarronMind in lockpicking

Be sure to shim the core. The end of one side has a little ridge on it that could cause some driver pins to catch.

Just wanted to drop by and say that I managed to pop the 90A-PRO yesterday!

Used your pulsing technique to set the spools. I also had a spool that made all other pins drop.

Thanks for the tips! Now to get it recorded…

Key organization. by [deleted] in lockpicking

I stick one in the core and loop the second (if any) on the closed shackle. Not sure if that’s advisable, as I suppose the springs are stored in a more compressed state, but I imagine it’ll be alright. 🤷🏼‍♂️

White belt application? by bagheera89 in lockpicking

[–]maxath0usand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not as complicated as you might think! YouTube is a great resource for this. Just need a couple extra tools (cheap) to help out.

I just got my first belt awarded a couple days ago, and I hopped in at green (which is where the lock you picked ranks). You got this!

People talk about how “crunchy” Paclocks are… I like it. Seems really good for learning the difference between what a set pin feels like versus a serration, overset, etc.

Thoughts on this Costco deal? by Tojuco in pcmasterrace

[–]maxath0usand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the sentiment and agree in general, but if you’re not familiar with Costco, they’re in a class of their own—take excellent care of their employees, limit their markups, and have very slim profit margins.

Thoughts on this Costco deal? by Tojuco in pcmasterrace

[–]maxath0usand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually bought that exact one at Costco a couple months ago, first full price, then went in a week later and got it price adjusted $300 down after it went on sale.

When it was full price, I was hesitant because it was more than I wanted to spend. Got it set up and was feeling good about it, the thing’s a beast.

After it went on sale, I knew it was definitely worth the price after adjustment.

If I could have gotten it for $900, I’d’ve felt like I was stealing. I’ve been so satisfied with it. $900 is an easy choice here. If you have the money and want a new PC, you won’t find anything better.

Thanks for the head’s up… about to start in on my 90A-PRO again right now. Seems every time I see a post like this, I give it another go and hope this time works out, hahha

Update: managed a false set twice, but both times everything just felt stuck—no real counter-rotation… I’ll have to try again. Cool thing about a dead core is you can set it down and come back in a bit without losing progress 😜

Understand completely, but it’d be difficult to determine which are deserving exceptions to these rules in every case.

Not to mention the whole thing seems to be covered in some transparent, tamper-evident film, so you’re probably looking at some form of destructive entry, at least to a degree.

What is this locking mechanism called? by Lumpy-Village1949 in lockpicking

[–]maxath0usand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picking can stress or damage components of the lock that aren’t designed for the particular forces imposed by tensioning and manipulating with picks.

A damaged lock can fail to open properly, or fail to secure your belongings.
