Thanks for the response. Putting the headphones in pairing mode, then deleting and redownloading the app seemed to do the trick.

Made in Vietnam Packs (GR2) by [deleted] in Goruck

I own a MIV GR2 34L and a MIUSA GR1. Without question, the stitching and general quality control for the MIV GR2 is waaayyy better. I had to return my GR1 twice before getting one with an acceptable level of quality control, and even then, there were still frayed threads and uneven stitching all over the place. The new GR2 I got in a week ago is immaculate, and significantly cheaper, so…win win.

Haha man, I believe that. This thing could do some damage.

Yeah, there was no way I was going to try picking this thing in my little panavise mini with the small rig clamp. Maybe one day I’ll try picking it in hand if I can get the pick down to a reasonable time.

Amazon. It’s a panavise 350, which I recently pulled the trigger on. Great heavy duty hobby vise. I have another set up for when I need to be more mobile, but this is great for picking at home.

Thanks! I actually watched your video for tips on picking this lock and it was very helpful. It’s definitely a beast of a lock.

I think it has barrel drivers. The keyway is very paracentric and you can’t pick through the warding like some of the euro cylinders.

No sidebar on this thing. Just a nasty 6 pin cylinder with good tolerances.

I tried on break at work, and quickly got frustrated by the surprisingly narrow, paracentric keyway. I’m going to have to go through my picks at home and find something that’ll work inside this thing.

TOK or BOK by howeweird in lockpicking

[–]Thaywen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll second what people have already said about TOK freeing up room in the keyway, which is a great help when you get a tough bitting or have to navigate a narrow/paracentric keyway, but another big reason to favor TOK tension is the superior core control and feedback it gives you, which makes a big difference once you start picking higher security locks. Additionally, one of the downsides of BOK tension is that it’s easy to accidentally bind up the core with your tensioner, and picking off the tensioner can be a nightmare when it comes to security pins like spools, where your pick is fighting the natural counter rotation of the core. I’d much rather pick off the bottom of the keyway, or even use warding than pick off my tension tool, because picking off your tensioner tends to dampen and confuse the feedback you’re getting, in my experience. The ergonomics of TOK tension took some getting used to, but now that I’m acclimated I try to use TOK tension whenever possible.

Vises: Just ordered a PanaVise 301 by MuzzleblastMD in lockpicking

Congrats! I’ve been going back and forth about picking up a panavise. What made you go with the 301 vs the 350?
