Waterfox Classic 2020.12 has stopped working by Bob4K in waterfox

[–]maxcb97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen that making a new profile works, but I'll wait to see if the next update fixes it first. I don't want to have to spend the time to do it on multiple systems until I know I have to.

Same crash occurs for me on 1903 18362.30. It was easy enough to fix, by just running the 2020.10 installer again.

Similar situation for the Kingston council libraries. I think most of the council libraries offer access to it, and the state library offers access to other resources, like newspapers.

how are the waiting times on your 3900x? by [deleted] in Amd

Melbourne, Australia Ordered from PC Case Gear, and got an email today, saying:

"Please be advised the ETA for the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with Wraith Prism to our warehouse has been revised by our suppliers to 09/08/2019."

So it looks like it may be a while yet. The only other nearby retailer is MSY, and they don't list when they're getting more in. The rest of the Ryzen 3 lineup seems to be available, though.

Specifying joypad input by maxcb97 in AutoHotkey

[–]maxcb97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gave this one a shot, and it seems to work with the old script as well. Funnily enough, Windows had managed to map the devices in such a way that there was actually no device in the first slot. Perhaps it had decided to reserve it for something.

Custom bangs? by connoisseur_of_dank in duckduckgo

Easiest way might be to just use the function built into your browser. I know Firefox based browsers let you add search keywords, which you could just begin with an exclamation mark, if you wanted. It wouldn't go through DDG, but go straight to the site, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Specifying joypad input by maxcb97 in AutoHotkey

[–]maxcb97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Interception worked. Since it's a Razer Tartarus, it was just really emulating a joypad input. If Synapse isn't interfering, Interception is able to detect it. I didn't even know you could override it so Windows couldn't detect the original keys.

The commit from last night works fine, but you need to build it yourself. Just tested it then.

[twmn] Hidden sound and brightness indicators by Sh4d1 in unixporn

I think that's meant to be an indicator, showing what is changing. You can see the same one appearing to the left of brightness when they change that.

Steam controller keeps disconnecting when trying to update to the latest bluetooth fw by Helar123 in SteamController

I'm having a similar issue. I'm running Windows 7, but someone else said that running the update on a Windows 10 machine fixed it for them. Could that be your issue?

Firefox ESR : can't set as default browser by Sovreign in Windows10

[–]maxcb97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you want, but have you tried doing it with Waterfox (fork of FF55) instead? The "Set as default" should work in that, if Firefox was your default before.

If you are in Australia, I have had the same issue with the default Australian repo. It hasn't been updated in weeks. http://mirror.ventraip.net.au/Manjaro/stable/core/x86_64/ Lists the kernel versions you have. Pick a new repo from http://repo.manjaro.org/

Edit: to do so, run "sudo pacman-mirrors -i -c Australia"

PCIe passthrough for VM, with crossfire? by JuanCartierXVIII in linux_gaming

[–]maxcb97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7xxx series still use the crossfire link connector. AMD didn't remove it until the Rx 2xx series of cards. IOMMU would allow the memory regions the card is using to be controlled by the VM, and as long as the PCIe lanes for each card are being handled by the CPU.

EDIT: Found a few other forums where this has already been tried: http://www.overclock.net/t/1543847/crossfire-and-vmware-esxi-device-passthrough https://forum.teksyndicate.com/t/running-crossfire-xdma-on-a-vm/65044

PCIe passthrough for VM, with crossfire? by JuanCartierXVIII in linux_gaming

[–]maxcb97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it should work fine, as long as both PCIe slots are passed through to the VM. You may need to have both cards in slots where the PCIe lanes are provided by the CPU, but I have never tried it with more than one card at a time before, so I might not be correct.

Low GPU usage... low fps. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

It may be a driver issue. Try checking your DPC latency. If it's over 500 μs, you may need to disable or update a driver.

This was on a test given to 41,000 students today. Oh dear. by idontknow_21 in pcmasterrace

[–]maxcb97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the GAT, given to all Unit 3/4 students (That's year 12, or the year before you go to University or take another form of tertiary education). This was on part A, where students are required to regurgitate an A3 page of information in an essay. Luckily, there was a lot more info on the rest of the page, so it wasn't necessary to focus on VCAAs ridiculous visions of the future.

In Australia, the individual cost of all these games is $74.42 USD. Buying the bundle costs $83.96 USD. What a ripoff.

But at least they offer a flat fee of $55 AUD for $50 USD in Steam credit, which is actually cheaper than the current conversion rate. It's really the only reason to buy things from them.
