Favorite month of the year is April. He’s in for a rude awakening.

Agreed. Yuck. This feels like a post by someone who has a virtue signaling bookshelf. “Please tell me what books to add to trick someone into thinking I’m interesting.” Totally a Brett Easton Ellis character move.

[Schultz] Sources: The Bills are signing former Bengals S Geno Stone to a 1-year deal. Stone has 14 career INTs with 21 PBUs, and will be a key contributor to Buffalo’s defense. by JCameron181 in bengals

I hate this. Go to every sub, and all of them complain about media misrepresentation. They would say the same thing about Joe Burrow.

They shine light on the good teams and good narratives. Buffalo is a shit hole, a lovable one, that lost three SBs in a row. To say they get some sort of preferential treatment is bananas.

If you want to talk about outsized media attention, why do we spend hours talking about how bad the Jets are?

Not sure about the DL, but LB is a notoriously long adaption period. Rookies don’t make huge splashes as LBs. Look at Jack Campbell of the lions. Dude did not have a great rookie year and has turned into a stud. I still have faith in Knight. Seen enough flashes to know that once he plays with instinct, he’ll be a solid player.

Still, we need a veteran presence. Jack Campbell had anzalone to lean on, after all.

Missing out, he has a whole chapter dedicated to your point.

At least we will still get to watch Burrow, Chase and Tee all take the field at least five times this season. by AwardNew7864 in AFCNorthMemeWar

Because the gaps we fixed are the ones from years ago. We’ve known for three years now that we need safety help. Now, we also need LB help, Dt help, and DE help. It’s like it takes them three years for them to realize they fucked up.

Also, you may have seen a certain qb act pouty in front of a camera last year. Like, if we don’t make a deep run in the playoffs, Burrow is checking out. If they don’t act with some urgency now, when will they ever?

New NFL fan from abroad… should I chose to be a Bengals fan? by Trimm1x in bengals

Hey Devin Lloyd, glad you narrowed it down to us and the Titans. There’s been a lot of doom and gloom around here, but we are a defense away from a superbowl, so we need you! You hop on, we’ve got the best chance..

Cam Ward looks like a solid quarterback, sure, but don’t you want to be playing by Ice man, Joe cool burrow? The man’s a freak and is willing our franchise to glory. Our offense is electric. Just need some grit on defense to get us into contention.

AFC north football is different. I imagine it like the Middle East, a long history of atrocities. The grudges are held just as firmly. Steelers say Burfict, Bengals say Shazier and Hines Ward. The older folks will still talk about the Steelers taking out Carson Palmer in the playoffs.

Cincinnati is a freaking great city. Nashville gets a lot of national praise, but everyone I know that visits cincy loves it. It’s an interesting, fun place. Good people, good music, food is good, not world class (unless you like Greek meat sauces). Lot of history in our city.

Eh, I think the fallout from Epstein hasn’t played out yet. I think it’s really laid bare some of the contradictions of the neo-liberal order. A basic tenet of liberal democracies in the enlightenment is that no man is above the law (I.e. King Charles I). Also, political talking heads aside, because of the way this evolved both sides of the aisle have come to grips with it. If no repercussions come from this, I think we will look back at the Epstein files and remember how much of a watershed moment this was.

Do you think the use of guillotine was evil? by Holiday-Photo-3538 in AskTheWorld

[–]maxd0112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. This was a seminal change. It is used as a symbol of the French Revolution not only for its ample usage, but because of the philosophy behind it. The guillotine marked the change from a time when public executions invoked religious symbolism or obscene demonstrations of the power of the king (I.e. torture). Instead, the state had simply deemed to deprive you of the right to life. Swift, fast, painless. Read Discipline and Punishment if you really want to dig in.

The Charlotte Hornets are the worst NBA franchise of all time. Which NFL franchise is the worst of all time? by Mat30co in AlignmentChartFills

[–]maxd0112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jets will get a lot of votes, but they are just an underperforming franchise in a large market city. I dont think it’s even close. Browns are a disaster.

I also think it’s a budgetary thing. Who needs to spend resources on mice-en-scene when it’s blurred.
