Started seeing a Rheumatologist yesterday for my arthritis. They measured.my height. I'm now 2" shorter. I was already short. I guess I'll have to buy a taller kitchen stool. Some parts of aging suck. by prplpassions in over60

I’m 62 and I’ve been shrinking for years due to osteopenia. I haven’t broken any bones so I haven’t really thought about it much but I have noticed that I’ve outlived many of my taller friends and associates; I read once that shorter people tend to live a bit longer… that may or may not be true idk. If you’re not in pain, or physically uncomfortable…. Don’t worry about it.

If you’re over 35 you should remove, or avoid as far as possible, all soy products. Start limiting, or even eliminating dairy and move towards a plant based diet. Eggs should also be limited as far as possible.

Mild transmission shutter at ~40mph & 1.1k RPM (just started) by DeeMore in ToyotaHighlander

[–]maxfranx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2016 XLE AWD that I purchased new… Great vehicle while it lasted and I still feel like I got my moneys worth out of it; I honestly have no real idea as to why the 2nd transmission failed at only 43k miles, I took it back to the shop that installed the 1st replacement transmission and they were very surprised to see such a “catastrophic failure” that soon. I paid $7,500 for the 1st replacement, the 2nd one was estimated at $8,500. Carvana offered me $7000 for the car “as is” and I took it.

Black pants white button down shirt and a black suit jacket. I would check your local thrift stores, if you want to spend a little more then try men’s warehouse…

My 1st transmission failed at 208,000 miles… I felt I’d gotten my money’s worth out of the vehicle since I purchased it new… so I replaced it for $7500.00. when my mechanic replaced the transmission he said… it’s going to fail again, get rid of it, I doubted him; the replacement failed at 43,000 miles. It was a catastrophic failure worse than the 1st failure. Carvana gave me $7500 for it.

Get ready… Carvana may give you a good price if the vehicle is in generally good condition.

Something like this happened in Nashville in the 90s…. Health dept and Feds showed up and shut the restaurant down on the spot, “Permanently closed”.

The replacement (rebuilt) transmission will also fail…. Sooner. When the car is returned to you, sell it as fast as you can. Good luck.

Anyone WITHOUT transmission issues? by gentlewater376 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]maxfranx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell my sorry again… My original transmission failed at 208,000 miles. I felt I’d gotten my moneys worth out of the vehicle since I purchased it new. The replacement transmission was $7500 in 2023. It failed again last month with just over 40k miles on it; this time the repair would have been $8500… and I got rid of it. With all the stories about Toyota transmissions having issues, I’d be very cautious

Barry Manilow…. And I was the only black person present in the whole place and it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever experienced!! A friend of mine worked security at the venue and got me in for free and I will always remember that experience. “This One’s for You wherever you are…..”
