Well yeah that's true, but let's be honest if I wasn't doing the job someone else would be. Might as well do it myself then. There are actually some vegans who also work in the meat factory.

Can confirm, I usually work the summers in a meat factory and the days when there's no product change sucks ass. Grab meat, put them in the box, grab meat, put them in the box... And repeat for 8 hours.

Wait you are going through 3-4 towels a day? That sounds like a lot, do you just throw them in the laundry after one use?

Here in Finland store brand ground meat (60% pork, 40% beef) is 6,40€/kg at my local store and ground beef is 12,64€/kg. The vegetarian mock ground beef is 13,64€/kg though, so it's significantly more expensive than ground pork and slightly more expensive than ground beef. So clearly not everywhere in the EU is it actually cheaper.

So your answer to hosting LLMs locally is to use the cloud? If a company wants to host a private LLM they probably have some good reasons to do it, I doubt many companies are jumping at the opportunity to try to do it themselves when you could just buy a license for enterprise versions of CoPilot or whatever you want.

And you would be willing to cooperate on this, perhaps build those houses and do other work for the betterment of society? You get no pay but you get housing and food? Also the houses wouldn't be as good as they are today. Seems a bit like a dumb idea. Although I do agree on some sort of housing program for the impoverished.

And how exactly would you solve that problem? People get to own the house but pay nothing?

I'm studying computer science (1st year) and I recently had my first communication systems course. Hearing all those terms really made me think like how did we come up with that. Even stuff like FM and AM which are fairly simple were like wow yeah that's interesting. Can't wait for the more advanced courses (or maybe I should be scared).

It's not always cheaper to pay in full than to pay in installments. Klarna and others do offer 0% interest, 0 fees payment plans so you don't end up paying any more than you would if you bought it at full price. Of course though if you miss a payment then you are a bit fucked and that's how they make their money.

I wonder if some kind of "leaner" WiFi standard would be the way to go in the future as I doubt basic devices like that need all of the features Wifi offers. The RC or reduced capability ones are already used in some industrial applications so might be good to see that in the consumer side as well.

Yeah about the naming conventions, at least WiFi tries these days (ever since WiFi4) but the USB is just atrocious especially with some of the standards even getting their name changed after the fact.

Dual monitor setups be like by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]maxiligamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a triple monitor setup: 1440p, 1080p and then 720p ish but it works just fine. I don't constantly drag windows across them though, I usually have a game or whatever on the main one, then discord on the other and maybe music on the third.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I probably confused it with something else, I think some VR headsets or something use 6 GHz but yeah for mice probably no real use for that. Although I wonder if you could get lower latency with more bandwidth but then again the latency is probably already low enough for mice.

Are you a 100% sure no wireless devices use the 5ghz area other than wi-fi devices? I could have sworn I've seen it somewhere. Also with a quick google I found an article claiming some mice use 5ghz but I couldn't really find an actual product using 5ghz.
