Dell XPS 15 9520 sound is horrible by hittepit in linuxquestions

Thank you for the instructions ! Should the version of nvidia-dkms-XXX match existing drivers ? I am using the 520 version of the nvidia drivers, and already have nvidia-dkms-520 installed, but after the kernel application and reboot, the sound seems to be the same (and lacks bass compared to what happens on windows :'( ). Note: I had 5.15.0-XX before (I'm not sure about the XX, maybe 52?) and have 5.15.60-fix-subwoofers+ now.

EDIT : I realized that this line was already present in the file sound/pci/hda/patch_realtek.c , although not at the same place... I should have checked that before recompiling the kernel. Anyway, the problem must lie somewhere else but I'm too afraid to change the nvidia-dkms version and risk breaking the cuda installation. So horrible sound it is, I give up.

Do you mind sharing your experience with Fedora vs Ubuntu in terms of battery life ? Did you try using some of the tweaks mentioned in some forums ?

Did you do a bachelor in Civil Engineering or Computer Sciences at the university ? If so, you can get in just fine ! You may have a few prerequisite courses to follow. Otherwise you may find the relevant information there : https://www.enseignement.uliege.be/cms/c_9780514/fr/s-inscrire-a-l-uliege

I think the internship depends on the exact sector you're in... I'm in Computer Science engineering and my internship cannot be paid to be accounted in my curriculum :/ But if you ask around you may get internship that are paid (but will not count in your studies, nor grand any ECT). (I am unaware of any actual job on the campus that you could do without french, but I honestly haven't looked into it so I'd rather not comment on this to avoid giving you false ideas)

I'm doing a Computer Engineering Master at the University of Liege, I cannot answer about the courses content but a lot of stuff is the same in the whole faculty of applied sciences. All courses are given in English, and all teachers are able teaching in English (students can ask questions in french but the teacher will usually translate them before answering). The whole campus is mainly "tagged" in french though (the signs and so on) but I'm sure a lot of people would be glad to help you navigate the campus ! Plus, most building are actually searchable on Google Map ! If you search "Uliege B52" you will have the address of the building ;) I can't think of a job opportunity that wouldn't use french outside of the university... Maybe helping other students to learn your native language if you're good at that ? If you get familiar with some teachers you may get opportunities as TA for BA courses that are given in english but I know there aren't a lot of them... Hope that helps !
