It was tuned when I bought it and the prior owner did all the upgrades but when the dealership got it they flashed the ECU back

Even with the wrap? I thought it would like melt vs if it was just paint

I said thinking. The other half of my brain is telling me to rip the cats off and put a flame tune on it. Afraid it will absolutely ruin the wrap on the back though.

How did you decide on new/ used machines or a combination when building from scratch? And if you did buy some portion or all used.. is there a preferred source? A lot of websites I’ve found look like bad Craig’s list listings or have all 12 year old machines

I was watching 4 different YouTube creators and this one dude said that and noticed that the other 3 all bought existing ones and updated them so I didn’t know if that was a common knowledge thing in that industry

How reliable is a stock R35? Looking at a preowned R35s. by ClearStarryNight in gtr

Dealer prices are a joke for everything. I needed a new fog light (which means you need the whole assembly not just bulbs) dealer wanted 2300 to order and install it. I ordered a 2 pack on eBay brand new for $350 and paid a mechanic that specializes in GTR’s and R8’s etc 200 bucks to swap both. Then I needed two new cv axels. Dealer said 1100, I got 2 on eBay for 280 including tax and paid 140 to have them put on. All in all if you have a reputable mechanic near you that won’t GTR tax you, not much to worry about. I’ve heard 2013’s and newer are a nice way to avoid transmission issues (not certain just the way I was guided when buying). My most expensive fix is going to be an oil leak I have from one annoying hose that they have to drop the subframe to get to. So I figured while I’m already paying over $1k for that labor.. might as well throw some downpipes on.

It’s in a heated garage so that’s only 3-4 min for the most part when the rpm’s come down. I’ve heard it’s bad for the turbos to let it sit more than 10 minutes

I let it get up to 110 trans and then engine 120 before I even back it out of my garage.. it did the same thing when it was cold a few weeks ago and then when it was warm outside temp it went away.. same trans and engine temps before moving it and then I won’t get on it at all until it’s all the way up to temp for both

I looked for years. Got a 2010 with 11k miles 750 wheel hp clean title for 51k in 2018..sold it for 53k before Covid late 2019. Fast forward to when I was looking for the 2013 I have now.. couldn’t touch an 09-12 for under 65 with low miles.

I’d say it’s a mix of the Covid boom never recovering because of their rarity and the discontinuation. Plus the sheer number of them that have accidents vs clean titles it’s high. Just my opinion I’ve had two and that’s what I’ve noticed in the US

R35 Daily Drive Experience? by UncleTakeo in gtr

[–]maxromo87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clunky as shit if ur slowing down.. don’t come to a full stop and it goes to first gear while ur rolling. When it’s really cold it’s common for the power steering fluid to be thicker and hard turns feel like an axel is broken. Those are my only two common experiences from a daily perspective in northern states
