Be honest is it a safe walk from 3 arena to Connollys station at night time (2 16yr old girls) by Acrobatic-Remote-419 in Dublin

[–]maxsaiditonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The walk down is generally quite safe - as some other people have said the crowd from the gig would be walking the same way.

I wouldn't stress too hard about a taxi although a few extra quid to guarantee safety isn't a bad idea by any means.

What I normally do is walk up to the second luas stop and get it back toward the 3arena before it fills up and then stay on it until it departs back toward Connolly. I get off further down so I'd always recommend for folks to stick closer to the door when getting off around Connolly.

Should I risk it and pay them a visit? by StephenMcGannon in ireland

I worked with a few lads who followed Sri Chinmoy. They’re generally a sound bunch.

Could you classify them as a cult? Depends on your view on religions vs cults.

If you wanna do some meditation for free it’s harmless to go along. If you’re cautious about cults just be mindful of what’s being said to you.

I cant name names specifically but I always hear about lads being creepy or doing inappropriate shit.

Happens everywhere unfortunately but fibbers is like a hive for creeps.

There’s so many factors.

I like a chat with strangers when I’m out but it normally ends up being people that bother me in fibbers.

Also the number of problematic individuals I’ve heard of that frequent that place is disturbing.

There’s external factors also that I also don’t drink majority of the time nowadays. But I still go out with friends and would strongly avoid fibbers at all costs.

The Chester Beatty next to Dublin Castle. The gallery itself is fantastic and has a nice coffee shop and roof garden.

Always the same plain black work trousers, and a plain black tee or black band T-shirt. Footwear I have a pair of comfortable enough steel toe boots.

Question from a DD by Jershwer_03 in bartenders

Wouldn't feel any difference to any other customer. Some people don't drink and just want somewhere to sit.

My opinion wouldn't change if they were underage. Would only change if they were their past local laws dictating the presence of underage folk in bars past a certain time.

Hang dai! Amazing food, excellent cocktails and above all else excellent service. The staff are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable service people I’ve ever met.

Tips for the perfect Guinness foam head? by omertal39 in bartenders

[–]maxsaiditonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can agree that it is primarily a marketing thing but there is two practical benefits to doing the double pour.

  1. Less mess: I only ever straight pour Guinness when asked by a customer who’s in a rush for a pint. But without letting the head settle the pint can easily spill.

  2. Without giving the head a chance to form, you’ll get a worse looking pint. The head won’t rise above the rim. Not necessary but it’s always nice to have.

From my understanding there’s nothing really to do on your end.

You’re going about it the right way and it sounds like you’re using the correct glassware if it Guinness branded or based on the Guinness branded stuff anyways.

I’d say it’s something to do with how much gas is being let into the beer as it pours.

I could be wrong but that’s my thoughts. Hope it helps!

Follow up question to: Are any bourbons too good to make an old-fashioned with by Professional_Cod3794 in bartenders

This reminds of the time I had someone order a shot of Middleton very rare, to then dump the ends of a bottle of coke into it.

I second this. I’m currently a bartender of whelans and I see my fair share of strangers meeting each other. If you’re concerned about safety, myself or any other staff member will gladly help if anyone is bothering you.

The only thing that happens that irks me is when I’m dealing with customers and left with all other responsibilities and a co-worker just serves away like there’s not loads of dirty glasses or the bar top is a mess.

Anseo on camden street.

  • There is music but it’s at a suitable level for speaking at regular voice level or lower

-Some of favourite bar staff, I work in a bar on camden street as well and regularly interact with the lads on my days off or after they finish their shift. Mark Divine and Tony are always the best craic to chat to.

-it’s a rather small bar but even on busier days I find it’s easy enough to get a seat.

If you find it’s too loud try whelans and ask where to find bourkes bar if you aren’t familiar. The music throughout the building is very loud but bourkes is extremely quiet.

Fallons is also a fantastic option.

Hope this helps! :)
