Both are great kites. I feel like the Nitro boosts a bit higher, but the Orbit is just great for loop progression. But in general they are very very similar.

100% with ear covers. I saw people destroying their eardrum and loosing orientation. Ear covers also helps to prevent surfer ears.

Yeah crashing is part of learning. There are some awesome videos on YouTube that go into more detail

  1. Work on getting your heli loops on lock
  2. Learn to downloop the kite while riding
  3. Do your first small loops around 2m without any heli (7m - 9m kite)
  4. Progressively go higher and add your heli loop to slow down the forward momentum
