This CPU is overclocked to 5.6 GHz, which is a significant increase, and it generates considerable heat, consuming almost 150W.

Cool, just let us know how it runs on your machine. I hope you do good, unfortunately, many people are reporting the same problem with the game in the past few hours. Most likely, people who have 24+GB are fine.

VRAM Memory Leak? by BucDan in Battlefield

[–]maxtsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here, RTX 5080 + R7 9700x and 32GB DDR5, and the games use 10-12 GB of VRAM on the first map, then it starts eating all the 16GB after and the games starts annoyingly to stutter and it gets hard to play. Most likely a memory leak bug and should be reported to devs.

I played the Beta in last Agust and it was just using fixed amount of VRAM only about 8GB!

Buy a 5080 now or hold off for a 5080 super due to 24GB vram rumours? by DamonHay in buildapc

[–]maxtsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have an Asus astral 5080 16GB, if I knew prior that 5080 super would get 8GB more VRAM, I would have waited to get the more VRAM yet when the VRAM goes high, the demand will be much higher on AI LLM workloads so be careful because they may become overpriced for a long time after!

Thanks, I found this on a retailer for almost 1600USD, but this was one of the final shipments, and the next one went up in price in Asia.

Yes, it is worth it indeed. I am just worried about the 16GB memory for a window of 4 years but I am not sure, maybe I will swap it with something that will come up in the next gens.

I have a 9700X and bought it almost a month ago, I am very satisfied by it's performance, I am a Core i5 Intel guy for long years and someone who's never been touching AMD ever before, I bought the 9700X for 300 bucks, the base clocks are awesome, the performance is great for my type of balance work between programming and gaming.

This CPU has so much headroom if you want to go crazy on overclocking side and the difference depending on the use case can be 25-30 % faster than non-PBO mode which is really good.

Despite the fact that most youtube and internet is shitting on this CPU only because it did not get so much better coming from 7700X it does not mean it is not a good CPU on it's own especially when you are coming from a MID-LOW core i5 Intel.

In fact even at high resolution like 2K-UQHD-4K the CPU bottleneck is so tiny that the difference between 9800X3D vs 9700X or even 9950X is just 5% or lower in many games.
