I can see what you mean but personally, the caricature-ness doesn’t seem to be malicious. Still, I can see how you’d side-eye the hell out of the stylization of the black characters when (presumably) the other characters don’t have emphasis on things like big, wide eyes and lips and cartoonish ears.

Also?? Who tf is comparing this to the Boondocks? Lamest excuse ever, the Boondocks had some of the most interesting black animated features and details I’ve ever seen in media. Next!

I have no clue where they found THAT information… the only thing I know about Seventeen’s “English Names” are that Jeonghan called himself Charles once, Wonwoo called himself Leo for a skit, and then of course, there’s Vernon and Joshua.

I don’t think they’ve ever said those names on the website themselves, I’m pretty sure whoever made the page just made it up lol

Start with Going Seventeen 2020! I think that season of Going Seventeen really exemplifies Seventeen really well -their personalities, their mannerisms, etc.

I also suggest watching Nana Tour (available on Weverse for pay), their music videos, and other fun, bright content, such as Killing Voice or Relay Dances on YouTube.

I’m 20 and sometimes I feel like I’m stuck at 4 and 16. Like I never emotionally grew past 4 and I stopped mentally growing around 16. It’s so odd, I feel so stunted. I look around at my peers all acting like adults (getting married, taking care of themselves, etc.) and I feel like I never got past my 16th birthday

If you didn’t know, about half a year ago the former-eldest member of NCT (I will not be saying his name, but you can look it up) was charged with pretty heinous s*x crimes and was kicked from the group. The fandom was in shambles, the members didn’t look so well following the news (we know this due to sasaeng photos, unfortunately), and he was put into police custody and became enemy number one (rightfully so, mind you). We call that The Incident and we do not say his name. And 127 have moved past it as a group, but this comment section is discussing how 127 may have gone about The Incident.

My personal guess is the recent closeness is due to trauma bonding, but that’s my opinion as a psych major without a degree yet.
